    D&D (2024) Playtest 8 Druid discussion

The only thing I still want them to fix with the new druid (which I will be mentioning in the survey) is that special abilities in beast form should use your spell save DC instead of the one in the beast stat block. Being a level 13 druid morphed into a Snake and still having a DC 11 on your...

D&D (2024) Brawler is out. What subclass should replace it?

This is pretty much exactly what I would want for the PDK. The only change I would make is to Bulwark: Bulwark (10th level) When a creature you can see within 60ft of you fails a saving throw, you can expend a use of your Indomitable feature as a reaction to add a bonus to that creature's...

D&D (2024) Brawler is out. What subclass should replace it?

I voted for the PDK, because it so desperately needs a complete redesign. Realistically, however, I think Arcane Archer or Psi Knight are going in, since the former pretty much just needs more uses of Arcane Shot, and the latter is pretty much fine as is. Or, just as likely, they'll just axe...

D&D (2024) The Cleric should be retired

Pretty much the only thing the Cleric needs to fill the White Mage Archetype is a class feature that encourages them not to wear armor. E.g. Armor of Faith When you aren't wearing armor or using a shield, your AC is equal to 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Wisdom modifier. If you choose...

    D&D (2024) Playtest 8 Monk Discussion

The only thing I would like to see is Stunning Strike replaced with a more versatile maneuver feature like the Rogue and Barbarian, where you can spend ki to inflict a variety of different conditions, with stun coming online at higher levels where it's more appropriate.

    D&D (2024) D&D24 Spellcaster Subclasses: Thematic Unity

Makes sense. Casting a broad net shows off the depth of the lore and increases the chances something will resonate with the reader.

    D&D (2024) Barbarian (Playtest 7)

When I first heard of the World Tree Barbarian, I was hoping it was more like the 4e Warden. However, I was disappointed. The features are fine, I guess, I was just expecting something a bit more... substantial.

D&D (2024) Is Magical Cunning enough? (Warlock P7)

Okay, how about this? Spell slots scale like PB (6 max) Get all slots back on a short rest. Short Rest is capped to 2/day. Magical Cunning gives you all of your spell slots back, but the LEVEL of those slots is reduced by half (minimum 1), rounded down. Eldritch Master now gives you one...

D&D (2024) Is Magical Cunning enough? (Warlock P7)

It is a possible solution, but I don't know whether it would be too similar to daily spell slots to be accepted. I definitely don't see a problem with increasing the Warlock's overall number of spell slots by like 1 or two.

D&D (2024) Is Magical Cunning enough? (Warlock P7)

Bards, sure, but how do the others? All of them actually get MORE uses of their main feature per day now, like I said, and they only get 1 back on a SR, so how are they more likely to SR than LR?

D&D (2024) Is Magical Cunning enough? (Warlock P7)

A lot of them are, to be fair. The Artificer, Barbarian, Cleric, Fighter, Paladin, Rogue, and Wizard are the ones that have capstones that are actually good. The 2014 Druid capstone was broken for Moon Druids, but pretty meh otherwise. The new version basically nerfed it to oblivion, though...

D&D (2024) Is Magical Cunning enough? (Warlock P7)

How is that different from the 2014 version? Especially now that so many features have been changed to PB/day instead of once or twice per rest? How is getting ONE use of your feature back on a short rest supposed to incentivize short rests when that's typically all you would get anyway in the...

    D&D (2024) The new warlock (Packet 7)

The only parts I dislike are that Magical Cunning is too weak (because it's basically just a weaker Eldritch Master, and that feature was already trash), and Hex and Eldritch Blast are no longer class features. Why? Literally every Warlock is going to choose those spells unless they're...

D&D (2024) Is Magical Cunning enough? (Warlock P7)

This is an intriguing solution. Probably easier to balance as well. My main point, though, was that Eldritch Master is too weak as a capstone to begin with, so giving them a weaker version of that and calling it a day seems lackluster. Would the Warlock really be broken if they got all their...

D&D (2024) Is Magical Cunning enough? (Warlock P7)

So, Warlocks at level 2 can now restore HALF (round up) of their Pact Magic slots using a 1 minute ritual 1/day. So, this means, effectively, they get two extra spell slots a day until level 20, where it jumps to four. Essentially, it's just a weaker version of Eldritch Master, their uninspired...

D&D 5E Larian confirms they want to work on BG3 DLCs!!!

I would like them to increase the level cap to 16, and include a new worldspace on one or more extraplanar locales. The Plane Shift spell could be used as a narrative tool to transition between the base game and DLC locations. Since the spell normally requires a specific component (a tuning...

D&D General why are dwarves harder to think of varients for?

Because in real world mythology, dwarves are basically just elves that live underground and craft magic items. They're also basically identical with the concept of Gnomes, which fantasy writers spun off into a different race, and in the process divorced Dwarves from any "faerie" themes they...

D&D 5E What's the point of Augury in 5E? Can we give it a better point?

A few minutes of research indicates that the spell originally had the DM give a short and/or vague indication of the result of the proposed action, not necessarily just the literal words "weal" and/or "woe." It seems as the editions progressed, this became increasingly simplified to the point...

D&D 5E Homebrew Monk Subclass - Way of the Tempest Feedback

Looks awesome. The only thing I'd say is for the level 6 feature, saying the damage ignores resistance to nonmagical damage is kind of redundant. Monk unarmed strikes are magic by then anyway, and lightning or thunder damage isn't going to trigger nonmagical damage resistance. Also, I don't...
