    What makes a game OSR?

Okay, so some things aren't intrinsic to the game's mechanics such as the 6 Core Stats, Alignment, Humans/Elves/Dwarves/Orcs, Fighters/Mages/Clerics/Thieves, Saving Throws, Experience, Levels -- just as long as the playstyle feels old school?

    What makes a game OSR?

Okay, so for example the 6 core Stats of Str Dex Con Int Wis Cha are necessary instead of let's say Stats using other names?

    D&D 5E I quit a game. Am I in the wrong? (spoiler, I don't believe so)

No, he said I have hints and wasn't up front. But this was after he said I never mentioned anything and I told him I did, several times over the weeks. If hints are things like, "Where is my character? When the heck am I getting him back?" and "I want my character back." I guess I am hinting...

    D&D 5E I quit a game. Am I in the wrong? (spoiler, I don't believe so)

I understand that. I am fairly lax when it comes to games I DM. I do like a bit of courtesy, like if you cannot make it or whatever. And you can come and go as you please. Yeah, he can have his BBEG randomly show up at places, have portals of my superiors open up before my eyes so I have to...

    D&D 5E I quit a game. Am I in the wrong? (spoiler, I don't believe so)

Yup. When I pointed out that they should have taken accountability for their actions (the reason for me leaving), and told them all of the reasons using examples they created that were out of my control that they could have resolved seeing as they were the DM. But, instead, they chose to ignore...

    D&D 5E I quit a game. Am I in the wrong? (spoiler, I don't believe so)

Nah, I do not plan to join a future game of theirs if they have one. I also just returned to some lengthy voice messages  Apparently we never talked about it, but then I brought up we did, so apparently he doesn't take hints. I guess me asking about my character and mentioning I...

    D&D 5E I quit a game. Am I in the wrong? (spoiler, I don't believe so)

I have been playing in this D&D 5e game for quite a while now. It started with 4 of us, 2 dropped out for unknown reasons. So, 2 of us have been playing since the beginning. We had some NPCs to help us out, they were hirelings. Some plot went down where he lost a large chunk of them so the...

Which of these is the optimal distance of measurement for your TTRPG enjoyment?

The funny thing is, after I posted this, I thought to myself, "Damn, I forgot palms!" What is a Palm, like 4 inches?

Which of these is the optimal distance of measurement for your TTRPG enjoyment?

Let's discuss what our preferred unit of measurement is when it comes to distance at the TTRPG table. It seems a lot of TTRPGs use Feet or Meters (perhaps for good reason). But, what unit of measurement would you prefer? It might be harder if you never used a particular measurement before, or...

Would you play a TTRPG that used Meters instead of Feet?

Crap, I confused Meters and Yards. I thought a Meter was 3 feet and a Yard was 3.x feet in length. It turns out it was swapped!

Would you play a TTRPG that used Meters instead of Feet?

Sorry, weight will still be in pounds. Heck, I may even do character height in feet and inches! Mix & match! Drive the player base nuts! The world map will still be measured in miles (though I have seen some games do miles and kilometers). A fluid ounce is always the same volume no matter how...

Would you play a TTRPG that used Meters instead of Feet?

Why is Fantasy setting Imperial system and Modern/SciFi setting Metric system? A quick google search seems to show me that Metric is older than Imperial. 1795 vs 1824.

Would you play a TTRPG that used Meters instead of Feet?

A bit Academic mixed with Mechanical. I was just thinking of the difference in reach for example from a Dagger, to a Longsword, to a Greatsword for example. I would say on average the tip of a peck to the end of a knife is about 1 meter. A Longsword wouldn't quite give you a 2 meter reach...
