I think I got it OK had a bit of inspiration and I think I'm going to give some of the baddies some tanglefoot bags. Immobilize the silenced monk and he can't chase the caster around. I figure after this happens a couple of times the PCs will give up on over using this tactic.

Spatula, I really like the bull rush idea. Casters in my game usually have friends with them so this will work unless the PCs manage to tie up the rest of the enemies.

You might want to look into critters with reach weapons and possibly classes. A 1st level Ogre barbarian is a CR3 critter that using it's intrinsic 10' reach while wielding a huge sword can give the barbarian a really hard time. Couple him with some lower CR critters to swarm the psion and you...
