Gotta put this game on hold. Just got a playtest game I have to work on... Suez '56, but with the US and Russia involved!:o

Beginning of Turn 6, first turn after Suribachi fell. Marines are beat all to hell... stubborn resistance. Going to be bringing in some reserves this turn.

Turn 1 and the first landing wave. Marines attacking all along the landing beaches.

Situation at start. Allies choice to invade the western beaches or the eastern beaches. I'm choosing the eastern beaches (as historical) because it allows landing closer to Mt. Suribachi... which I want to eliminate quickly so Japanese artillery fire isn't so devastating.

It really depends on the size/scope of the game and the gamers preference. Doing this game in the thread with minis wouldn't be terrible. Doing minis in an operational scale attack of Army Group Center in 1943 would make me shudder. Personally I prefer counters... most of the games I collect...

Be there or be square. Who is going? What are you going to be there to do? Play in a tournament, browse, etc? What games do you enjoy? My brother and I are going this year, instead of to GenCon. It's closer and cheaper:p I am most interested in the wargaming. A couple of guys I interact with...

Turn 7 and End of Game Concentrated firepower finally brings down the Tripod, and the halftrack near the hanebu machineguns the last wurmer unit to death! NAZIs win!:p

Turn 6- German fire against the Tripod is ineffective, and the wurmer in the mountains evades damage from MG fire. - The Tripod miraculously misses! But the wurmer moves up behind the Germans, trying to help the Tripod break through to the NAZI UFO.

Turn 5- German troops wipe out all Wurmer units coming from the west. But now the alien behemoth known as a Tripod is almost among them! - Wurmer unit in the northeast mountains attacks and over-runs the German troops guarding the hanebu, eliminating them.

Turn 4- German halftracks unload ski troops, who dispatch a wurmer unit. In the north, MG fire from the halftrack wipes out another wurmer. - Wurmer still trying to reach their objective.

Turn 3- German reinforcements arrive. - Wurmer move closer.
