D&D 5E 5e warlock homebrew: Patron, pacts, and invocations

Thanks. One thing that was mentioned in another forum was that maybe Pact of the Temple should start with a damage increase to unarmed attacks. I left it out, not wanting to encroach too much on the Monk. If I get enough feedback saying it would be a good idea though, I could always either a)...

D&D 5E 5e warlock homebrew: Patron, pacts, and invocations

Awesome, thanks! Honestly, I kind of do, too, but I didn't want to go too big on it. I'm currently paying an Undying Light warlock from UA. While it's first ability isn't the worst thing about it, having +Cha mod to fire/radiant damage AND a radiant damaging saving throw based cantrip turned...

D&D 5E 5e warlock homebrew: Patron, pacts, and invocations

I've been working on some homebrew warlock material for an upcoming campaign, and could use some critiquing. Specifically, I'm looking for your opinions on 1) general flavor, 2) general balance/power level, and perhaps most importantly, 3) suggested perquisites for the invocations...

D&D 5E PC Animal Companion. Would you allow it?

Personally, if I were playing an ape and had to take a character class, I'd go Rogue, Theif or maybe Swashbuckler. A kleptomaniac grappler, and a mean drunk. Alternatively, I'd make him a Ranger and give him a kitten companion named Bubbles.

D&D 5E PC Animal Companion. Would you allow it?

Not a scenario I've encountered, but just for laughs I thought I'd ask the DMs. Let's say you have two players. One wants to play a BM Ranger with an ape companion, the other wants to play the ape. For the sake of argument, let's assume you know both players will always make it to the same...

    Monk Ability Priorities

In my continuing endeavor to make my monk character (thank you for the input to those who responded to my previous threads), I find myself at another crossroads: Ability scores. I rolled two 16s and an 18. I'm prioritizing Con, Dex, and Wis, so as a half-elf I can increase two of those by 1...

D&D 5E Yeah, another 5e Monk multiclass question. Sorry in advance.

The question now, of course, is whether I'd rather have the damage output of a Hunter, or an ape companion named Ambassador Pickles who smokes cigars, wears a bowler hat, and grapples enemies from behind while I run up and beat them down (plus he can use his reaction to shank them in the kidney...

D&D 5E Yeah, another 5e Monk multiclass question. Sorry in advance.

Yeah, but that was what we were going for by playing against type. The eloquent, highly-skilled, charismatic half-orc and the hit first, hit second, ask questions later maybe but only while hitting again, half-elf.

D&D 5E Yeah, another 5e Monk multiclass question. Sorry in advance.

I'm currently leaning toward that or a Hunter Ranger for the extra damage, but Bearbarian's damage resistance is very tempting.

D&D 5E Yeah, another 5e Monk multiclass question. Sorry in advance.

So I posted this the other day here and on a few other forums. Thanks to those who responded for their advice. I didn't want to resurrect that thread so I'm starting a new one with a similar but more specific question for the same character. I think I'll take him to L11 as a reflavored Long...

    D&D 5E 5e Build Help: L15 Street Boxer

Long post, so here's the TL;DR: Help me build a Level 15 half-elf street boxer without using the Pugilist class. I know similar topics have been discussed before, but I'm looking for help with my specific situation. RL background: A friend and I are building a pair of Level 15 characters for a...
