Agreed, Brute was the perfect fighter. Everything it should be without unnecessary crap thrown in. Too bad the bespectacled nerds had to go all Texas Instruments on the class.

I ended up going wizard/cleric in the end. So far he's Wizard 1/Cleric (Grave) 2and is doing great! Grave maximizes my healing as long as I wait for people to fall unconscious. Also, stabilizing at range is awesome. Wizard also gives me a familiar to run touch healing to whomever needs it.

I have. I thought that might be fun. Have you played a Divine Soul? If so, how does it stack up compared to the "normal" healing classes?

Thanks for the advice guys! Ranger/Cleric definitely sounds good. I'm going to roll some stats and try a couple different builds to see what feels best.

Hi all. I'm starting a new game next week and joining a group in progress. They are 2nd level and could use a bit of extra healing and/or ranged damage. I haven't played a gnome yet in 5e and I was wanting to try it out. We're rolling 4d6-drop lowest, so stats "shouldn't" be an issue. I know...
