D&D 5E Upcoming D&D Tidbits: Phandelver, Book of Many Things, Venger, & More!

Venger being a red wizard makes me have a crazy theory (Spoiler for D&D movie, and the upcoming Phandelver adventure if I'm right):

D&D 5E The March D&D Book Will Be Announced Next Tuesday

I hope I'm proven wrong, but I don't think this will be a Dragonlance book. Months ago WoTC stopped work on Dragonlance, prompting the lawsuit. The lawsuit only ended a few weeks ago. This March book would have been in development during all that time, and thus it can't be the Dragonlance book.

The "Superstitious Mumbo Jumbo" Of Dice Rolling

Of course dice superstition isn't real. Most gamers know this. But pretending the superstition is real is a fun part of gamer culture.

    The Monetization of D&D Play

I can understand people not liking paying for a home game, but paying for space at a store or other public place is not unreasonable. Magic players need more cards all the time, and thus will probably buy stuff at the store. RPG players don't have as much of a need to buy new stuff, so it makes...

Defend the Realm! Support our Troops! Play some games! New 5E Charity Humble Bundle Launched!

You can choose how much of your $$$ goes to the charity and how much goes to the company, in this case Frog God Games. I set the bar to give the charity the most money, in part for the reasons alluded to by Shasarak. I think you can even set it to 0 to the company, 100% to the charity.

The Grim World Of Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play Second Edition

rmcoen: I am sorry for what happened to your elf, but it is a *grim* world of *perilous* adventure. :) I only played the game once, myself, as a teenager. I remember it more fondly, probably because I was an awesome dwarf. I got a bunch of whfrp pdfs recently in a humble bundle, maybe I'll...

D&D General Strahd Castle Ravenloft in 3d glory!

Impressive... most impressive. :) I'm sure you will have happy players. Quick question I didn't in the comments- is this based on the original Castle Ravenloft maps, or is it based on something in Curse of Strahd? I am playing that in Encounters right now, and want to send a link to my group...

    Gygax Memorial Statue Concept Proposal

That is a seriously great idea. I imagine gaming groups making a pilgrimage to the memorial to take photos of their groups "game with Gygax." Maybe they could even play a quick game. (The table would maybe need to be replaceable for that reason. Perhaps the monument could be a bronze statue/DM...

Logic of being atheist in a default D&D campaign.

I don't know why there cannot be an atheist character if your campaign has gods. The character would simply be wrong about the gods not existing. This is an interesting debate for the characters in the world to have (what does it mean to be a god?), but I don't see how it means that a...

Logic of being atheist in a default D&D campaign.

I think some of you are looking at this the wrong way. As players and DMs, we know the lore of the default D&D setting: that the gods are real, that they grant spells, that they live on the planes, that worshipers give them power, etc. But that's the wrong perspective. You should approach the...

    D&D 5E Legends & Lore 3/17 /14

I'm not a fan of changing existing lore too much because I think it takes away from the D&D world, but for a lot of monsters there was scant lore to begin with. From what I've seen in the various columns, I really like a lot of the new lore they came up with. Even if I don't use it all in my...

It's D&D's 40th anniversary. Tell me your D&D history, and what it means to you!

I started playing in 1993, when I was thirteen. I had wanted to play even earlier, when some other Boy Scout kids were playing it at camp. The senior patrol leader and DM was designing a tank for the game, and I thought that was awesome. My mom wouldn't let me play though because, "Don't...

would you play your least fav edition if asked by friends

Absolutely. I love gaming with friends, and sharing that experience is why I'm still a gamer more than 20 years after I first picked up a polyhedron.

    Pathfinder 1E Drow Homeland?

Also, Menzoberranzan is a minor Drow city, it just looms large in the public imagination because that's where Drizzt comes from, and thus a lot of stories are set there.

    I'm loving this game!

I'd say 90% of the reason I love DCC is because by DM is great. He runs the kind of game I always wanted to play. I think it's because he reads Knights of the Dinner Table.* :) But I also really like the magic system. The randomness of spells is fun, making every spellcasting exciting and...

Nope, it's just a sign you've got what it takes to be a DCC player. :)
