Now it’s over $15m with late pledges.

Critical Role just did a cross over with Among Us so that tells me they have some serious brand awareness outside of hardcore TTRPGs. Probably not Brandon Sanderson levels but still some chops.

They’ve already picked up over $145k in late pledges since funding, too. That feature probably just paid for its own implementation…

There is a ‘late pledge’ feature which is active. I haven’t seen that before. They must have gotten fed up of people raising another $XXX dollars on backerkit after the initial campaign ended (and missing their cut of that).

It’s now the third highest Kickstarter ever! I’m not actually backing this campaign in the end, but watching it is pretty amazing.

I think another factor which maybe differentiates this Kickstarter from some other big RPG crowd funding is that Brotherwise is an established company with other revenue streams and established operational systems. When a new or small company hits big that can disrupt all their other systems...

I’m specifically talking about the publishing strategy rather than the system itself.

It reminds me strongly of the FFG Star Wars RPG where there were three lines which were similar but different. They were fully stand alone but could be used together. The fact that some of the team previously worked on the FFG Star Wars game is probably no coincidence.
