    A Paid Trip to Spellhold [D&D 4e]

    I fear before long these will be the least of our worries, Daven muses. You do understand the trouble we've just brought upon ourselves?

    Good luck with the surgery. Rest as needed. We can handle waiting a bit.

    A Paid Trip to Spellhold [D&D 4e]

    Daven moves cautiously into the room, seeking to stay close to those at the front in case they need his assistance. Move action: move to W9. Standard Action: Ready Vicious Mockery aimed at the first Shadow Thief, other than the one who has surrendered, that I see.

    I'm usually okay with it as well, but putting Torash in a position where he's flanked, or can't help defend others wouldn't be so good.

    Adventures in the Chaos Scar {Adventure One: Stick in the Mud}

    Torash lashes out at one of the muckers with his longsword, but the mud still clinging to his shield throws him off balance, sending his blade wide of its mark. Assuming Mucker 1 is still standing, Tide of Iron vs. Mucker 1, misses, Roll Lookup Mark Mucker 1 again anyway.

    Yikes. That's more excitement than anyone needs. I hope everything is well now, and that you'll get to relax for a few days.

    Adventures in the Chaos Scar {Adventure One: Stick in the Mud}

    That's right. I had forgotten that. I'm used to a friend who plays a dragonborn paladin, and he had to take a feat to do that. Hooray for fighters! And I forgot the +2 bonus to init, so it should be 12.

    Adventures in the Chaos Scar {Adventure One: Stick in the Mud}

    With a roar of pain and frustration, the dragonborn fighter stands up. Mud flies from his body as his chest expands mightily just before a wave of acid rolls out from his gaping mouth. He follows the attack with a mighty swing of his sword, drawing the attention of one of the amphibious...

    In what situations can one NOT use a power?

    True, but at lower levels the difference is more significant (d12+4 or d12). Besides, I'm not saying it's the best choice all the time, but there are situations where it makes sense. Say your warlord gives you a +5 bonus to your next attack vs. enemy. If you attack with twin strike, you'll...

    In what situations can one NOT use a power?

    Except twin strike doesn't benefit from your strength/dex bonus. Damage is simply 1[W]. Basic attacks get 1[W]+str bonus or 1[W]+dex bonus. If you have a bonus to attack, which will only affect your first roll, you might want to use the basic and deal more damage with the one attack that's...

    Torash isn't comfortable with that. He'll stay about 24 squares away (120'), so that he can make it in two rounds. If that requires a stealth roll, I'll trust you to roll it, H4H (-2 mod).

    Just don't get out of sight, or walk into anything you can't run away from, Torash adds with concern. Give a shout if you need us, but I'd rather you avoid trouble.

    Torash steps forward, shield and sword at the ready. I'm not much for subtlety, he says to the others. If someone wants to scout, I'll wait. Otherwise, I'll be happy to lead the way and take the brunt of any unpleasant surprises waiting for us.

    I'll be standing next to you, then, Torash says to Chaihana. My sword and shield lead my way in combat, and challenge the enemy to break himself against them. Stooping to get his large frame through the opening, the dragonborn follows after the others.

    A Paid Trip to Spellhold [D&D 4e]

    With a satisfied smile at how well his new companions are faring against the thieves, Daven attempts to help finish off the one who hasn't already fled the scene. You should have followed your friends, he says, his voice strikingly lyrical and full of power. Or maybe they left you behind on...

    Adventures in the Chaos Scar {Adventure One: Stick in the Mud}

    Picking out one of the splintered spearheads, Torash shakes his head in confusion. These bandits aren't the usual sort, he grumbles to the others. Their weaponry is far less advanced than it should be. Perhaps we're looking for a savage species.

    With a look of distaste, Torash moves over to the corpses of the horses. He gingerly moves the remains around with the flat of his blade, looking for any indication of how the horses died. Heal check to identify weaponry (natural or manufactured) used to kill the horses, 15. Roll Lookup

    Recruiting! In the Service of Cyre [4ed Eberron]

    Early stages of an alternate submission (so many strikers, I figured I'd hedge my bets). 1. Which Archetype do you match? Dragonmarked Scion. Tyrstan is a dragonmarked member of House Lyrandar, and loyalty to that organization is his top priority at all times. 2. 1 paragraph (3-8 sentences)...

    And it doesn't require us to put innocent lives at risk, Torash adds. While I like the idea of surprising them in the midst of their evil acts, it's not worth the shedding of more innocent blood. He nods, the decision made in his opinion, and waits for the constable to lead the way.
