Cade's offer to let Laynie ride Alton stands, and he will walk by her if she wants. Otherwise, she thinks it is best for Tandi to try to comfort the young child.

OOC: Where abouts are we on the map? Cade has an idea, but I'd like to know our location first.

(OOC: You are almost five days southeast of Orussus.)

*Laynie refuses to ride on Alton. She just wants to be left alone.*
OOC: Darn. Wrong direction. I was going to offer to have my parents look after her. Still may if she's willing when we come back.

(OOC: Okey dokey. I just marked you guys all down for 675 XP. Yes, that's right. 675 XP. Ain't it crazy how much that chart in the DMG gives? I think so too. But anyways, that means that a bunch of you may have leveled up, I think. Cool! Update your character to account for it, and we're all set! Oh, and I guess I need to be approved and stuff or something.)

ooc: We're going to Briartown? Which one is that? Is that the on the way (ie, following the ring), or is that the hobgoblin town or what?

edit: yay level! :D

(OOC: Briarton is almost directly opposite to the correct direction, but its the town that hired the hobgoblins, and some of the party is really keen on getting that orc loot after Jiigral is done with it.)

OOC: Wow, honestly I'm supprised about how low that is compaired to what I thought it might be. But I guess we didn't fight everything straight up, so the charts had to be adjusted accordingly. (The calculator I was using to check had us at over 2400, or at least the L1 folks). Also, don't forget to add in the time exp (if you want, seems appropriate, and should be different for us depending on the level) and any RP awards you feel we may have earned (at your discression) [suckup]o wise and powerfull Rystil, who's game i am not truely worthy to play[/suckup]

(OOC: I'm guessing you either gave yourself XP one by one for all of the others in the fight (including both renders, the hobgoblins, and the orcs) or didn't divide by 8. Either way, I used the EL rules to reduce for everything except the orcs due to the fact they were fighting each other and the renders were severely wounded when you started (not to mention that Doggie, although you did later murder him in his sleep, was fighting to save you ;)). I came out with 675, and I still think that's a huge number to get in the first encounter. And don't worry, that doesn't include any RP xp. I don't think I'm ready to give RP xp yet because some of the things I saw definitely made me realise that I am going to have to get used to the characters, especially some of your views of your character's alignment, before I can make that decision. Oh, and were you guys really at this for a full month yet? If so, then I guess there should be time XP too :) Edit: It was indeed a month)

I used the calculator at www.d20srd.org, which devides automaticly from what I can tell. But yeah, you reduce the CR8s a bit, that lowers everything by quite a lot.
