Niobe's Dilemma (Manzanita Judging)

OOC: He could be. It's kinda vague. He's not particularly small or large though.

"It's hard to say, he was riding a horse. He had a longsword strapped to his back though. He rode off the way you were going, to the road a few hundred feet further down, and then I don't know."

"Look, I'm going to go. I need to get a head start to get out of town now."

"My friend, if you fear reprisal from those other men, you need not worry. I believe we plan on tracking them down, though I will have to ask my associates. I can help you start a new life, a life built on happiness and kindness rather than taking from others, and we can see if you can't receive some sort of reward. I leave the choice to you."

(OOC: Oops, missed the update :heh: )

"I think it's best I just be on my way, and sort it out after that. Farewell," He says, rearing his horse and riding off.

*Lasair lets him go, shaking her head sadly, her eyes downcast and her lips set in a frown. Nonetheless, she turns to her companions.*

"Well, we've learned a few things, at least. First, this wasn't a decoy--that trail is the real deal. Second, Niobe was actually bloodied and abducted--she did not leave of her own accord. Third, as we assumed, the man who performed the abduction was not Carsis. Carsis doesn't even own a sword" she speaks the word with contempt, "But the abductor had a sword, not a spear. The spearhead he planted was simply that, a plant. Lastly, we know they met up with the road again, though I doubt even Troi could find the right trail out of all those on the road. Still, we can figure out whose holdings lie in that direction down the road. Any thoughts?"

"That would seem prudent. In fact, it seems we may want to rest soon. However, we can probably at least determine the direction of the road before heading back, so we can ask the lord or his staff what lies further down that road."

Bandit
"I think it's best I just be on my way, and sort it out after that. Farewell,"

Troi curses silently as the bandit rides off.

Shouldn't have let that happen.

Lasair
"Carsis doesn't even own a sword."

Troi shakes his head. "Don't be foolish. I've got a good number a weapons on me, even though th' whip is my signiture weapon. An' if 'e knew 'at mos' people knew 'e carried a spear, wouldn' it make sense fer 'im ta not carry one aroun' when doin' somethin' like that?"

Wil
"I would like to return to the manor in order to retrieve my arms and armor before we press further."

Troi considers this for a moment.

He's right... we can't press on like this. I'm the only one ready for a fight, really, and even I'm not fully equipped.

The ranger nods. "I think ya got th' right idea, Wil. We kin get back ta th' manor, er whatever, an' set out in th' mornin'. Not like th' road's gonna go anywhere..."
