The Crux of the Matter

Tenebrynn cowers in fear from Hogarth and starts screaming when he comes closer to cast his spell on her. The music changes to a paniced wall of heavy sounds matching her own tone. Thankfully she calms down once freed from her irrational fear and the music changes again softening in tone. She stays seated a bit longer trying to absorb what is going on around her.

(OOC: Hey, for all you know it could be the fabled Brassiere of Summoning Fire Elementals!)

"I suspect this Reverse Gravity will fade eventually--you can probably save the Dispel for later," Laynie guesses.

(OOC: Ashna--gathering previously found objects (the ones listed by Velmont in that post) only or looking around for more magic items / other reagents?)

(OOC: He can actually find all the magic items really quickly if you have him remove his current items into the Haversack and then check to see when he starts sneezing ;) Do you want to do that? Of course, that doesn't find useful nonmagical reagents)

(OOC: Yeah, I figured as much ;) Alright, lessee)

*Vanitri's three cards:

On the first card is a stately but not overly martial woman in plate armour with a winged helmet. She holds a cup as she approaches a stream. She bears a passing resemblance to Termina, though her medium colouring is somewhat different.

On the second card, which is reversed, is a majestic figure wearing princely headgear regarding the broad world from a height. He holds one wand and regards a globe, while another wand is nearby.

The final card holds the Wheel of Fortune. It rotates eternally, bringing the great to naught and the humble to power, for a time. Descending on the left is an evil demonic creature; ascending is a canine-headed being. Yet with another turn of the Wheel, the ascendent will descend and the descendant will ascend. Resting atop the Wheel yet undisturbed by its rotations is a sphinx casually holding a sword. Four winged apocalyptic beings occupy the corners of the field.*

(OOC: The first card symbolises an ally. The second card gives him a -1 penalty on saving throws against fear effects and despair effects. The Wheel of Fortune is a major arcana--Vanitri gains a permanent +2 luck bonus on all saving throws and an appropriate clearly-fated-for-him item (which is just about to turn up in Ashna and Rinaldo's search!). The luck bonus is tied to the item--if he sells it or gives it away to someone else, the item will be lost or destroyed before he can complete the transaction. If the item is destroyed by this or any other means, the luck bonus also fades.)

Ashna primarily packs the obvious items and reagents. If something catches her eye as being interesting, she may pack it as well. She doesn't want to spend too much time in the room for three reasons - she doesn't want to see another wild surge (is there humming building up again?), she doesn't want to give Eve's troupe too much of a chance to overtake/reach them, and she kind of fears that the Deck of Many Things spontaneously decides to draw some cards itself for her.

(OOC: There's always humming--the Wild Surge occurs at intervals that are...wait for it--random

So afraid of the Deck of Many Things, are we? It's seemed to be fairly beneficial for the others ;)

So that means you are indeed gathering previously found salient items only then? There may be other items that can be found with low-DC Search checks to anyone who checks in a particular pile, but since they're under something, the Spot check to see them across the room is high--and you do have someone who can sniff out magic items like a pig and truffles if you use the allergy strategy. If you're okay with just getting those from the list, then we can continue (actually, even if you're not okay, we can continue, but I need to know which ;)) )
