WWDDGD: Elemental Evil Oasis (Updated files)

Legend
Last year after WWDDGD, a bunch of us thought it might be a good idea to put together an adventure for this year. I'm not sure how others have gotten on with this, or if anyone cares any longer, but I have just put the finishing touches to the adventure I wrote for this purpose.

So, you will find attached to this post the adventure text for "Elemental Evil Oasis", a short adventure intended for six fifth-level PCs. Maps, pregenerated characters and initiative cards will follow.

Feel free to use it, change it, or just completely ignore it. The one thing I would ask: if you do use it, some feedback on how it goes would be nice - I've never written a full adventure for public consumption before, so it would be good to know how it actually runs. (My big concern is that the first encounter may be too easy, or the last encounter too hard. Or, of course, that I've missed something important.)

Edit: as noted below, a couple of the files ran afoul of a conversion between Word 2007 and the previous version. I have updated the files accordingly.

The maps. Sorry about the quality of these - I had intended to use something more appropriate than Word for this purpose, but ran afoul of software problems. In particular, the last map isn't very good. You'll need to imagine that it's a cavern with those rough dimensions - the grid only shows where characters can stand.

Pregenerated characters.

There are eight of these. The DM can handle assignment of characters in a number of ways:

1) Simply assign characters to players as he sees fit.
2) Let each player choose a character.
3) Assign characters randomly.
4) Let players bring in their own characters.

I suspect the adventure will be, um, interesting if the group includes neither the Wizard or the Sorcerer. Otherwise, I don't think any of the characters is really necessary - even without the Cleric I think they should be okay for healing.

One note: Hannibal has an Extended Mage Armour cast. This is why his AC is higher than might be expected, and why he is one second level spell short.

Edit: I have updated the characters. They should now display correctly.

And the initiative cards. There is one card for each of the pregenerated PCs, one for each monster group, and one end of round card for each encounter.

Edit: I have updated the file. It should now display okay.

Word files can carry all sorts of malware. I would like to put in a vote for RTF or PDF files next time around.

That said, thanks! I'm planning a desert adventure in the future and I think the players will be about the right level at that point.
