Sinister Spire(con't RBD)(Orsal Judging)

Lookspring flinches when the massive javelin strikes Phoenix. To his surprise she retains her feet, tugs the weapon free, and her wound seals over in a burst of heat. He stares dumbfounded at her for a moment before he realizes that the group is advancing without him. He scampers forward to keep up.

I should add that I'm really enjoying adventuring with Lookspring. That's me, not Rowan. I don't think I've ever seen a chaotic evil PC played so well.[/I]

Thanks, I appreciate it. It's hard to come up with some other ideas besides being greedy. I'm enjoying the Rowan/Phoenix interaction so far, it's fun to watch.

On your advance you do not see anything more than darkness at the edge of your lightsource and the tunnel continuing into darkness.

"Lookspring, wait!" Phoenix yells as a small voice in the back of her head warns her to beware. "I just remembered something. Those books in the Library that Rowan and I found said that the snake-men liked using traps alot. If we go rushing blindly down the path, we could fall prey to one of them. I know it's a risk considering that the thing could just be running to get reinforcements, but it might not be worth the risk. Also, we should heal Rowan's wound while we have a small break of time. I'll watch the tunnel ahead while you heal him up." she says.

[sblock=OOC] Don't know if you want to go back to reconing and searching for traps ahead for a little bit, or not. If you just want to press on ahead, she'll go ahead with them. But she reccomends going single file with a little distance between each person in case of traps.

As for the rest, I'm enjoying Looksprings attitude as always, as well as the interactions between Phoenix and Rowan so far.

DC20 Concentration check to regain Psionic focus (1d20+9=21) Phoenix also takes a moment to recharge her mindblade's psychic strike and to regain her psionic focus.[/sblock]

Chaffing at the delay, Lookspring nonetheless shoulders his bow to tap Rowan with a charge from the healing wand. He then ducks behind the large man for some cover to hide behind before edging forward around the group. As he passes the fallen body he glances at it to see if it shows any snake-like features. Once the light is behind him, he peers into the darkness ahead to see if he can catch sight of another lumbering brute. If the way looks clear, he proceeds forward trying to stay 20' ahead of the group.

Can't get to IC again today. 1d8+1 for the wand. Lookspring's hide and MS is 13/12 respectively. Of course, if he's being observed that won't matter much =)

Rowan chaffs at the delay. He'd prefer to charge after the creature. But Phoenix shows real wisdom. And Rowan is keenly aware that they live on the knife-edge, the three of them against the might of the unknown snake-men. And recently, Rowan's felt a lessening of his desire for risk. Courtin death made him nervous now. He definitely felt he had some things to do before he died.

"Thanks 'spring." he says to the katara after being healed. He's glad the little ranger took the point. Wouldn't be a fair party if one memeber was consistantly in the rear. Since they're delaying, he takes a few moments to look over the dead monster, seeing if it has anything of value.

Looking over the creature Rowan finds a rotting animal hide pouch which contains 13 gold coins and 73 silver coins.

With Lookspring in the lead the group moves on 40'

[sblock=Lookspring] 50' away you notice a gap in the side wall to the right and faintly discern a lengthy arm and large head near the ceiling as if another of the brutes was hiding waiting to ambush the group.[/sblock]

OOC: Just a note to say I edited my first post in the thread to add a 'campaign notes' section, which includes the treasure we accrue. I'll try to keep track there. If you'd prefer to track it yourself, BibB, I'll drop that. But I've seen games before where no on really tracks the treasure and then at the end, various people have to scramble to figure it out, so I thought I'd try to be proactive.

IC: Rowan pockets the cash & proceeds. "Got a little something here." he says to Phoenix. "and neat trick healing your wounds."
