d20 Past art gallery up...

Hopefully, the shaman, sorcerer, mesmerist, and spiritualist classes will be different enough from the regular magic/psi classes in d20 Modern to justify their inclusion in such a short book.
Yes hopefully. In any case I finally devised my own d20 Modern magic system that now needs playtesting. Anyway, I am sold on this d20 Past book and will immediately get it when it is available in my FLGS. I am eager to get it. Just one month to wait... I wonder if it will re-print the six basic classes (Strong, Fast, etc.) adapted to non-modern settings, and with new occupations. In any case, seeing this "sea-devil" monster, it's obvious they are looking toward d20 CoC fans...

I truly doubt the basic classes will be reprinted, but new talents and occupations are likely.

Nazi chicks and coal powered power armor. What more could you want?

Coal powered nazis and chick armor, maybe?
Who decided that women dressed in gestapo outfits were sexy? I'm not saying they aren't, I'm just asking when this happened? :D
I think the art looks pretty good; especially Kalman's because he kicks quite a lot of ass.
I'm adopting a wait-and-see approach with the actual content of the book. Man, it's been forever since I've posted...

Edit/Derail: Dare I hope that WoTC is slowly getting over its hang-up regarding nudity? I mean, really, no one with half an ounce of maturity and perspective gives a hoot as long as it's not in poor taste. The nudity in the olde moldy D&D books I have didn't seem out of place to me back when I was in middle school. I think it helped create a particular ambiance, fantasy-wise. It neither harmed nor titillated IME.

I imagine there will be a section on "new" uses for existing d20 Modern skills as well as suggestions for what skills and uses for skills wouldn't be possible in earlier ages. Computer Use isn't of much value in the 19th century - unless Charles Babbage actually built his analytical engine in your campaign, of course. :)

This is a great topic for its own thread (perhaps in the ePublishers forum)...but, since you asked here, I'll answer here (apologies for the mini thread-jack):

I am much more likely to take a risk because the whole way of doing business is different--it's a lot harder to take that kind of risk when you're looking at a minimum outlay of 10-20K to produce print products.

Cool - I always thought that one of the many benefits of ePublishing would be to make it easier and afordable (for all parties concerned) to produce products for niche audiences. And sorry for the thread jack. :)

More monsters and spell-casting classes...I swear to the Nine Hells sometimes I just want to beat the WotC design staff to death with a nerf bat.
Hey, maybe this is the long-awaited low-magic D&D... ;)

If the FX classes are anything like the FX classes in the D20 Modern corebook, no it won't. They'll dominate, just like in Midnight and Wheel of Time.
