World Largest Dungeon Cheap

Well, staff reviewers grant 4 or 5 stars on a very consistent basis. I mind the details of the review more than the rating. Note some of the WLD's "helpful" advice on how to run a dungeon--like banning druids! And telling DM's not to allow players to take 10 or 20 on checks. I'm worried that this bad advice indicates a poor understanding of 3e rules. Also, I'm concerned the dungeon may just be one monster-filled room after another. I like trap rooms, puzzle rooms, and the occasional weird-for-the-sake-of-weird room.

Yeah, me too....OK, sale :)

There is a mega-thread around here about playing in the WLD which discusses the advice the adventure provides as well as the house-rules that others have implemented. I highly recommend reading the thread to see how others have dealt with it.

You will certainly get "trap rooms, puzzle rooms, and the occasional weird-for-the-sake-of-weird rooms" in there. :)

I think that is this one: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=100030 - there is a spoiler warning on it.

You can buy:
Torn Asunder for $15.61
Arms & Armor v3.5 for $19.77
Complete Warrior for $17.79
Unearthed Arcana for $23.07
Advanced Bestiary for $24.39
Advanced Player's Manual for $23.07
Arcana Evolved for $32.99

Just a few suggestions. :)
Thanks for the good suggestions.

Unfortunately, the shipping cost seems to go up a fair bit for each additional item so I'm going to stick with just the Dungeon.

I hate paying shipping costs. Anyone would think the book had to cross a massive ocean to reach me ...... I'll have to comfort myself with how favourable the exchange rate is these days.

must . . . resist . . . gravity field of sale.

I'm tempted just for the higher levels and the cheap price, my group is 16th and finding high level stuff is tough.

But I swore off buying any more print products after I filled my gaming bookshelf.

Its AEG so pdf is not an option.

sigh.

Wow, I've never heard someone make that promise to themselves. You can always give away some of the gaming books you no longer use to make room. :D

I'm a hoarder and giving up gaming stuff is anathema to me. Not using =! don't want. I guess dwarves and dragons could be my totem spirits.

In my 3e campaign I'm using the 1e Manual of Planes, a pdf of the 2e Outlands book, as well as a 1e roleaids dwarf sourcebook as major references. These are things I would not have guessed at being actually used after reading them through once, until situations came up in the game I run where they fit very well. Similarly with my 1e and 2e FR books after I started playing in a game that uses that pantheon. I consider gaming books as reference material available to be used as needed, not consumables to be used/read only once the way I think of novels.

Besides, so many things I want are now available and cheaper as pdfs and I get (generally) more use out of pdfs than print products, so my purchases can continue to effectively expand my gaming resources even as my physical room for storage does not increase.

Well, WLD is still 60% off so it must not be a mistake or something. Myine arrived in the mail today and I mat get to read it in September, but I'm pleased to at least have gotten it!! :D
