List of 3.5 vs 3.0 books

Two, I would like that spreadsheet! Please? Pretty please?
Since you asked so nicely, here is the spreadsheet of 3.x D&D creatures appearing in books published by Wizards of the Coast. For each monster (and race and template) the index includes the following information:

- Rules (3.0 or 3.5)
- Sourcebook and page
- Size, Type, Subtypes (not usually included for templates)
- Any class levels the monster has, or the favoured class for race entries
- Environment (aka Climate/Terrain in 3.0)
- CR and LA (if listed)

There is some duplication in the data. When, for example, stats are provided for a creature in both monster and race formats, it appears twice in the index.

The classification system on the right hand side is still under development, but you'll probably get my intention if you sort the data based on those columns. I'd appreciate any suggestions for better ways to classify monsters.

At the moment, this index only covers books published by WotC. Yes, I know the monsters from Dragon/Dungeon/the WotC web site/etc. should also be indexed. I'm working on that

I'm sure there are mistakes. Please let me know if you find things that need fixing.

And you're not a true D&Der if you don't buy them all!!!

When Dragon #323 came out in its new format, there was a 16-page advertisement in the back. It even had an order form listing all of the prices. If you bought everything on it, you'd have spent something like $2,500. It's just nuts.
The sad thing is, I would own them all if I hadn't decided that I'd rather have a 17-inch Powerbook G4 with tricked-out RAM and processor than a crappy $800 Gateway desktop. Not surprisingly, now I'm broke. But someday, I'll own all of them. All of them, I say! :p

And Echohawk, for uploading that spreadsheet, you are now at the TOP AND BOTTOM of my list of wonderful people! :)

Don't tell me that; I don't want to know how much my crack habit costs!

(Luckily, though I own most of that list, I haven't paid MSRP for anything.)

One of the guys in our group literally has every bit of it - and then some. He grabbed Gamma World, Ravenloft, Midnight, Iron Kingdoms, Kenzer and Co's world and Sovereign Stone, Black Company and DragonLance. And a few more I'm not remembering

[Edit - Thieve's World, Freeport too]

And he's got every single thing for all of those as well as a bunch of D20 stuff not listed.

And yes, all of the D&D minis as well back to Harbinger.

Essentially - it takes up an entire wall + part of another in the gaming room. But there is nothing out that he doesn't have - so when it comes to rules - we never have to look far.

Gaming for 25 years+ and no wife (anymore) tends to free up your gaming purchases and interior decorating options.

Not my first choice, mind you, but it doth hath its perqs.

Hm... considering I've spent more than that just on miniatures, that doesn't actually sound as bad as I thought.

(of course, I still mainly just use the free SRD with no supplements... and still re-use my old 1st ed. modules from the 70's).
