TerpCon Fall 2006 (11/18/06) in College Park (Metaphorical Phoenix)

Edit: TerpCon V is on November 18th, and will probably run from 9:00 AM until 1:00 AM (subject to change)

The old thread seems to have been flamed and killed. We are keeping it (and will be monitoring it) as a thread for complaints. THIS thread will be for people that want to tell ENWorlders and friends about what games they want to run or want to be run.

I would also like to note that we are in the middle of talks with a vendor. If they can spare the people for it, we'll have a vendor this time. If/when they agree, we'll ask about what people want them to bring (dice, bags, and basic gaming books are guaranteed).

I myself am planning on running a Spycraft 2.0 mod, possibly as a play test. Anyone else running a game? Talk about it (and don't forget to e-mail terpcon@gmail.com).

Note: Thanks to Matt Saltzman for the thread title.

TerpCon V announcement, Take 2:

Well folks, it's nearing that time again. TerpCon Fall 2006 (TerpCon V for those of you keeping track) has been scheduled for November 18th, 2006.

We are once again going to use WarHorn as the sign-up site, seeing as we have had no complaints about it. As before, GMs are encouraged to send their games to terpcon@gmail.com starting right now. We will need:
1) The name of your game
2) The system of your game (D&D 3.5, Shadowrun, Paranoia, etc.)
3) The writer of your mod (even if it's your own creation)
4) The number of players you want (it may be a range, e.g. 4-8)
5) Whether or not you will be using pregens
6) If you aren't, what guidelines you want players to follow when creating characters as well as a way to get in contact with you for questions and/or approval.
7) A general synopsis of your mod (try to keep it short and sweet)
8) Whether this is an RPGA game
9) The slot(s) in which you want to run your game (choices are morning, afternoon, and night (exact times to be posted in a bit))
10) Any materials the players will need to bring
11) Your WarHorn name. We cannot link the game to you without this. Please help us out by including this.
12) Anything that I have forgotten to mention but you feel will be necessary for us to know.

In order to list you as the GM, you will need to go to www.warhorn.net, click on "TerpCon Fall 2006", and register. It takes about 30 seconds. The ability to reserve slots for players is up in the air right now.

Players will be able to sign up for games starting on October 18th. Either Carla (the new President), Amanda (the new President of Vices), Andrew Beard, or I will post more at a later date. And yes, I will post a new "Idiot's Guide".

You should really put the con's date in the thread title. Also, really cool that you're going to have a vendor this year (maybe). Hope you can work it out! If it works out, make sure that they bring the hot/new RPG product of the moment, as well as standard accessories like dice.

My attendance at this one might end up not being resolved till the last minute. If I can get the 20th and 21st off, I'll be gone that whole week (Thanksgiving is the 23rd).

I'm traveling to Ohio for the big "Gathering of Savages" at Con on the Cob (Nov. 2nd - 5th), but assuming that all goes well I may be willing to run another Savage Worlds 1786 game. Been doing a lot of development, and I should have some good scenarios to run. Last time ("Damn'd Loyalists!") was far out, man.

That was a lot of fun.

Well, be sure to e-mail us the details if you do decide to run another Savage Worlds game. And the same goes to the rest of you, just not necessarily about Savage Worlds. We'd love to have more games and more people sign up.

You really, really ought to put the date of the event in the title. It will help increase traffic - as it stands now, someone looking at the title alone has no idea if the con has already happened, if it's upcoming, or what.

Just a friendly suggestion.
