Yes.

It is happening.

Amethyst will be rolling into Fourth Edition D&D. We have our battle strategy and hope for a release by year's end. Listen to our podcast for details. We have some neat ideas I think which will make our game unique while still making it 4ED. Expect more updates as our progress continues.

Expect more of the same high quality art and more of the same attention to detail.

--All original Amethyst races to return.
--The new LIFEPATH rule which adds region and discipline bonuses to first level characters.
--New original monsters based on the Amethyst setting.
--New feats and magic items
--All new Paragon paths and Epic Destinies
--WAY MORE artwork and at the same quality readers have seen before.

Well as it happens, a friend of mine has a copy of Amethyst for 3.5 and I've been reading through it all morning...

All I can say is....it is a damn fine book.

Unfortunatly, I probably won't. I've sold off or given away all of my 3.x books (except the 3.5 core books) and haven't really touched 3.x in a year or so. I wouldn't have a use for another d20 book. I pretty much have just played my company's own in-house system (Aeon System) and now 4th Edition.

However, I will be first in line to pick up Amethyst 4e!

So question. I'm too broke right now to afford the book currently [not working sucks, btw], so I'm going to have to wait a little longer to get it. What I'm wondering is if I should just wait until the 4e book comes out? Is there any reason not to wait or are the books going to be different enough that I should eventually plan on getting both?

Well, as you know, the moment our 4.0 edition is officially released, the 3.5 will be removed from all electronic shelves.

I would suggest keeping on our forums and check out our donation option. It will cover both options. They will remain up and probably won't change for some time.
