Heroes of Another Kind Cast(New species, feats, and starships)

These are the PC and NPC stats for the characters in my Star Wars Story Hour, Heroes of Another Kind. Also, I'll post links to drawings and sketches I've worked on for the characters.

EDIT: Now going through and putting in some character backgrounds/descriptions with the stats. Felt I should do this before, but now I'm finally getting around to it...Only thing about the backgrounds(especially PCs that have multiple stats as the story goes on) is that certain things will be held off until the Story Hour actually gets to the point where it actually came out. :)

Born to unknown parents on an unknown planet with an unknown name, Raan Maxwell grew up like many did during the Galactic Civil War. Wandering the streets of Corellia, getting a hold of food whatever way he could. Because of his lack of knowledge of his past, he always found himself having to guess an age. He was around eleven years old when the first Death Star was destroyed. This was his first real exposure to the Rebellion. Of course, this was only as fantastic tales that could get any child's eyes to open wide...especially those of a child that had so little.

From that day, Raan decided he wanted to be a pilot. This caused some problems, as he had no way to learn to fly. So, he did it the hard way. Raan stole a speeder and flew it across the Corellian grasslands. It crashed, but he'd at least had the intention of bringing it back. The tactic of stealing a speeder, flying it, and bringing it back was how he taught himself to fly.

By the time his piloting skills were noticed by anyone, he was sixteen. The Emperor had been killed at Endor a year earlier. Corellia was still occupied by the Empire, but a large amount of the newly named New Republic force was still on the planet. Through this, he got a job flying supply freighters for the New Republic. At only eighteen, he was given a spot in a newly created starfighter squadron, the Zephyrs.

The young, brown haired and blue eyed Raan couldn't pass this up, and soon found that life as a pilot was not all the fun it was cut out to be. As young as he was, Raan was forced to be an adult much faster than what would be normal. Whether that was a good thing or not, he still isn't sure of.

Malan Tsun was born to a longstanding family of Kuati pilots. All through the line, the Tsuns were members of the Navy. First, the Old Republic and later the Empire. His father was the last Tsun to serve the Old Republic, serving during the Clone Wars. But when they Wars came to an end, the Empire was born and the older Tsun found himself in a new position. Young Malan was only five years old, and did not have any idea of the true nature of the major events that were occuring.

When he was old enough, Malan Tsun followed the family tradition and joined the Academy. Now, though, it was the Imperial Academy. He followed through with the training, and graduated at the top of his class at the age of twenty. Tsun served as a TIE pilot for four years until the event that changed the galaxy. The Death Star was destroyed. Not a month later, Tsun and the entire ship his squadron was attached to defected to the Rebel Alliance.

He flew cover for a transport during the escape from Hoth, he assisted in the failed attempt to recover Han Solo from the bounty Hunter Boba Fett's custody on the planet of Gall, and he flew an X-Wing as part of Red Squadron at Endor. Time and time again, Tsun proved himself as a great pilot. But after the Endor, he found himself growing tired of the constant fighting. For many more years, he became a pilot trainer for others that reminded himself of who he'd been so many years before.

Three long years of fighting after Endor, Tsun was given command of the new Zephyr Squadron. Every single pilot amongst the squardon except for himself were rookies, and handpicked by Tsun. He led the Zephyrs on a feint assault on his home planet of Kuat and eventually on the mission they'd been training for. Coruscant. The assault on the Imperial Capital was a success, but at the cost of many lives. All but three of Zephyr Sqaudron survived, and Tsun was not among them.

The daughter of two Naboo farmers, Elizabeth Mare was never really a fighter. She grew up in the shadow of the Imperial held city of Theed, but the influence of the Empire seemed to be small on the outskirts where her family lived. From a young age, though, she had always been amazed by space travel and the sky. Her father taught her how to fly the landspeeders and eventually airspeeders, which she seemed to have a natural aptitude for.

But she was too young to fight in the Galactic Civil War. Mare was young and idealistic, latching on to every report of the war she could. One day, she knew she'd find a way to get out there and fly with the Rebellion. But then the Battle of Endor was fought...and won. The Imperial presence on Naboo dwindled as troops were needed elsewhere. She was left to wonder what to do. To her, it was over.

She soon learned it was not. Of the remaining Imperials on the planet, one discovered her sympathies to the Alliance and attempted to take action. She was arrested, and put into prison to be executed as an example. With the help of a local Rebel group, Mare escaped, and managed to find her way to the Rebel Fleet. Her piloting skills recognized, Elizabeth Mare was accepted as a member of the new Zephyr Sqaudron.

There she met Raan Maxwell, a human who looked about her age. The two became very close friends, and as time went on, more than just close friends. Of course, Raan never really noticed this, but Mare and the rest of the squadron did. It wasn't that relationships were outright against regulations, but they were discouraged. Sadly, the subject was never brought up by Commander Tsun as he'd planned to after their next mission. That mission was the attack on Coruscant. During the escape from a planetary battery that she and Raan had destroyed, Mare was killed when her X-Wing was shot by a turbolaser battery they had forgotten to destroy.

A young blue skinned and cockpit pilot, Rulae was born in one of the many domes on the planet Duro. As with many of his kind, from a young age he developed a great love for the stars and space. However, despite the prominence of the Duros among the galaxy, by the time Rulae was old enough to begin travelling on his own the Empire had come to power.

So, joining with many other young and starry eyed Duros, Rulae helped to organize a large resistance movement among the people. Not long after the Battle of Endor, a Rebel fleet arrived and assisted the resistance group in overthrowing the Empire and taking their planet back. Many of the members of the group, Rulae among them, were given positions in the newly formed New Republic military.

He underwent formal flight training under Commander Malan Tsun, and was the first to be asked to join the new Zephyr Squadron. Because of that, he became a little overconfident, nearly getting himself and his Mon Calamari wingmate, Marin Tenbar, killed on more than one instance. But he was lucky, as everytime someone was there to save him. He finally proved himself as more than just a hot headed rookie at the assault on Coruscant, being one of the three to survive the battle among the Zephyrs along side his wingmate and Raan Maxwell. After the battle, the Zephyrs were nearly disbanded, but Rulae managed to make a case to keep them alive, and was given command of the new Zephyrs which he still holds.

A female, blue skinned Mon Calamari, Marin was born aboard one of the last Mon Calamari cruisers to be launched from under the oceans of the planet. She was a young child when the ship blasted out of the oceans of Mon Calamari to surprise the Imperials and drive them out of the system for the remainder of the Galactic Civil War. She grew up on the moist and humid environment of the ship, one of the smaller of the cruisers that was used by the Alliance as a medical frigate.

She had an early attachment to starships, wandering the small hangar aboard the ship when she was young. The techs there indulged the young child, showing her how things worked and the details of the systems. From this, she eventually grew to be an expert mechanic and tech aboard the cruiser. As that progressed, she learned the systems so well that she began to assist in building replacement parts for damaged ships.

Her intricate knowledge of the systems aboard ships lended to her skill at piloting, which was developed only as a necessity to help in moving more supplies among the newly freed planets after the Battle of Endor. For her bravery during on mission, Marin was awarded with a medal an asked to join the new Zephyr Squadron. She accepted, and became both a pilot and mechanic for the squadron. Having her own ship was a dream, allowing her to change it just to her perfect needs. This was proved to be a good thing at the assault on Coruscant, as she was one of the three among the Zephyrs to survive. After command of the new Zephyrs was given to her wingmate, Rulae Nok, Marin followed him, but became the ground technician for the squadron, no longer wanting to be forced to see her friends die.

Force Feats: Alter, Sense

After the death of Elizabeth Mare, Raan Maxwell left Starfighter Command and joined up with the New Republic Spec Force. He did this to get revenge against the Empire, and performed perfectly for three long months. Then, after realizing what he was truly doing, he left. Not only did he leave the New Republic, but he left his life and his memories.

Almost like a droid that had gone through a memory wipe, Raan changed his name and completely forgot about his past. All he had to connect him to that past was the lightsaber he'd carried, and a small datapad. The datapad was filled with Jedi teachings, and Akan(as he now called himself) learned from this. He grew in the Force, but there was always a distant problem that his burying of memories caused with his training.

Requiring some kind of money to live on, Akan eventually joined with a group of mercenaries headed by a Verpine named Ansion. Akan assisted in the recruiting of new trainees, and even trained many of them in close combat techniques. It was not long before Akan was given command of the Third Division, leading them into missions. However, he usually ended up working on his own, scouting ahead and clearing defenses for the others. This became such common practice that Akan was really only involved with the Third Division in the planning and training stages.

This was not a problem at all, and in fact allowed for the Third Division to grow into one of the strongest. Yet it kept Akan distant from the others, and while only Ansion knew of his past(though how he'd done it was unknown), everyone got to the point of worrying about his actions. This was soon dealt with when a newer recruit who had been a partner of one of Akan's good friends joined. Her name was Shadow, and she was of a species that no one really knew of. But from what Ansion knew, she was extremely similar to Akan. Both were loners. Both didn't know much at all about their past. Both were excelent at their jobs. So, Ansion assigned her as Akan's partner...whether he liked it or not.

A insectile humanoid Verpine, Ansion was always sympathetic to the Rebel Alliance. Unlike most of his species, however, he did not join in the fight against the Empire. While many of his friends and even family worked in secret at a small facility in the Roche Asteroid Field(the Verpine home) on a new starfighter design that would eventually become the B-Wing, Ansion was off in the Outer Rim. And he wasn't just out there. He was meeting people, learning about ships from others than just his own kind, and getting a feel for the galaxy as a whole.

Two months after the Battle of Endor, Ansion found himself in the employ of a smuggler named Max. Through Max, Ansion met many people who would later become associates in his own smuggling business. Among them was a Rodian named Eslick Seero, called Patch by everyone because of the eyepatch he wore for no apparent reason, an older female Duros named Elona D'ares, and Sorak Tallone, a Trandoshan tracker and demolitions expert. Together, the four of them attempted to form a smuggling business. But this never got off the ground. So, not long after Ansion met a young human calling himself Akan Tavos, Ansion tried another business. Having aquired an old Carrack cruiser(the details of which Ansion has never spoken of) the Verpine tried his hand at mercenary work.

The five of them found a perfect place in the business, and in the wake of the Empire's defeat mercenaries were in high demand. Quickly gaining a name for themselves, they eventually recruited a very large compliment of members suitable for nearly any kind of work. Ansion is still thinking of broadening the horizons of the group, though for now he is too busy working on a treaty with the New Republic, who have become much more scrutinizing of his activities after Akan disappeared with an escaped Imperial officer.

Species: Alraxians

Alraxian Species Traits:
-Ability Modifiers: +2 Str, +2 Dex, -2 Con, -4 Wis, +2 Cha
-Medium Size
-Speed: 10m
-Low-light Vision
-Regeneration 2
-Cold Vulnerability: Alraxians cannot survive in cold enviroments, and take a -2 penalty to Str and Dex in such environments. If in the cold for more than 12 hours, an Alraxian begins to take 1 Con damage per hour(DC 20 Fort save negates each hour)
-Metal Vulnerability: Alraxians cannot morph metal object. Metal bypasses their regeneration, and an Alraxian must takes 1 Con damage per round(DC 15 Fort save negates each time) if the metal was inserted or dug into their skin. This is because the cells attempt to morph the metal, but instead the metal spreads and kills the Alraxian.
-Claws: Alraxians have sharp claws that deal 1d6 damage on a successful melee attack Alraxians may sheathe/unsheathe their claws as a move action
-Network: When Alraxians are within their home Empire or in a large group of other Alraxians, they share a telepathic link. Through this, an Alraxian can share images, feelings, words, and anything else to all those in the area. However, it is not possible for an Alraxian to use this unless there is a very large group of others of their kind around.
-Morphing: Alraxians can change their shape to mimic any Small or Medium sized creature that they have collected DNA from. DNA is most often collected through the drinking of blood from the sampled creature. Gathering the DNA sample requires the Alraxian to make a DC 15 Con check, and if failed, may not be attempted again for one month. Most Alraxians are not trained in Morphing, as it is very strenuous and painful. Each time an Alraxian that is not trained in morphing attempts to morph, they must pass a DC 20 Con check or take 2 points of permanent Constitution damage. If untrained, an Alraxian may only hold two DNA forms. When morphed, an Alraxian gains the physical stats for the baseline member of the form, but retain their own mental stats. They do not gain any special traits, except for any natural armor. Morphing takes a full round action and grants a +10 bonus on Disguise checks
