PUGILIST
Requirements:
BAB: +5
Feats: Improved Unarmed Strike
HD: d10
BAB: As fighter
Good Saves: Ref, Fort
Skill Points/Class Skills: As Fighter
Abilities by level:
1: Bare Knuckle (1d8)
2: Footwork
3: Improved Grapple, Bare Knuckle (1d10)
4: Put your back in to it
5: Bare Knuckle (2d6)
6: Stunning Blow
7: Bare Knuckle (2d8)
8: Reactive Strike
9: Bare Knuckle (2d10)
10: Knockout Punch
Bare Knuckle (Ex): You deal damage with an unarmed strike or successful grapple check as a monk of your character level - however, you can do no more damage than listed in the chart above. As a monk, you can choose to do lethal or non-lethal damage with no penalty.
Footwork (Ex): You can add your Wisdom bonus to AC when unarmored and without a shield.
Improved Grapple: At 3rd level, you receive Improved Grapple as a bonus feat.
Put your back in to it (Ex): Your unarmed strikes are treated as two-handed weapons, in that they add 1.5x your strength bonus to damage and offer twice the return on Power Attack. However, you cannot use this ability in conjunction with Flurry of Blows or two-weapon fighting.
Stunning Blow: At 6th level, you receive Stunning Blow as a bonus feat.
Reactive Strike (Ex): If you are not flatfooted or paralyzed and have both hands free for unarmed attacks, you may immediately react to any melee attack against you with an unarmed strike at your base attack bonus only (no strength, enhancement, or other bonuses to hit apply). This strike deals only 1d10 damage.
Knockout Punch (Ex): If you stun a target with your Stunning Blow, and then, with your next two attacks in the same round, successfully stun him again with two more Stunning Blows, he is rendered unconscious for for 1d4 rounds. Any magical healing will awaken him.
PROS:
Better at raw unarmed damage dealing than a monk
Good grappler
Bonus to defense when no armor, shield
Good reflex bonus
CONS:
No mobility bonuses
No better at damage overall than your typical two-weapon fighter
Probably still better off with armor and weapons most of the time
Can't use bonus unarmed damage when using a shield
Balanced?
