the Jester
Legend
In the 2e days of my campaign, there was a specialty priest of knowledge (not a god, but rather a philosophy). This is my adaptation/modification of that into prestige class form (you can still be a cleric of knowledge imc, but not all silver seekers were members of the silver seeker class, just as a commoner might be a druid in the sense of a believer in the druidic faith)
Silver Seeker
The Silver Seekers seek knowledge above all things. Many have risked everything- their friends, family and life- for the sake of new knowledge. Those not of their order (which is based on Tirchond) often think that the Silver Seekers are dangerously obsessed, and sometimes this is true.
Though most Silver Seekers are elves or dwarves from Tirchond, usually ones that have studied at the Silver College, anyone who has been exposed to the right influences and has even a modicum of spellcasting abilities can develop the thirst for knowledge required to become one. Bards, sorcerers, wizards and clerics of the philosophy of knowledge are the most likely to become Silver Seekers, and those pledged to a deity are too focused on their religious duties to throw themselves whole-heartedly into the Silver Seeking.

CLASS FEATURES
Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: A silver seeker gains no new armor or weapon proficiencies.
Growth of Knowledge: At ever level, a silver seeker gains a bonus 2 skill points that must be spent on Knowledge skills.
Lore (Ex): Much like a bard, a silver seeker has picked up many pieces of knowledge and information that might otherwise remain obscure. This ability is essentially identical to bardic knowledge, except it includes non-legendary information as well. If the silver seeker has another class that gives the lore or bardic knowledge ability, those levels stack for purposes of making lore checks.
Improved Divinations: When the silver seeker casts a divination spell, she may add two to her caster level for all purposes. Beginning at level 6, the silver seeker may instead add four to her caster level.
Knowledgeable (Ex): A 4th-level silver seeker may make untrained Knowledge skill checks as if she had one rank in the Knowledge skill in question.
Legend Lore (Sp): 1/day, a silver seeker can use a legend lore ability. This functions just like the spell, except the silver seeker must enter a deep trance for 30 minutes in order to activate it, regardless of proximity to the target of the legend lore.
Breadth of Knowledge: A 7th-level silver seeker has spent so much time buried in books and scrolls that she gains 10 + int bonus skill points that may only be spent on Knowledge skills.
Instant Discernment (Su): A silver seeker who attains tenth level has such facility with her divination spells that she instantly gains all the potential information from all of them, with no need to concentrate for three rounds. For example, a silver seeker casting detect thoughts would instantly learn where there were thoughts, the intelligence scores involved, and the surface thoughts. Furthermore, any divination spell or spell-like ability with a casting time of a full round or longer that the silver seeker casts has its casting time decreased. A divination that normally has a casting time of 1 full round becomes a standard action. If its casting time is measured in full rounds, reduce the casting time by 1 full round. If the casting time is measured in minutes, each minute becomes a full round action. If it is measured in hours, each hour becomes a minute. If it is measured in days, each day becomes an hour, and so forth.
