[Ronin Arts] Planar Factions now available! (Updated)

I'm very pleased to announce that my first PDF product is now available through Ronin Arts and RPG Now.

Entitled Planar Factions, this is a collection of organizations and secret societies that operate on multiple worlds. Each entry presents an overview, a history, the faction's methods, its customs, and its resources. Furthermore, each entry also presents some new mechanical goodies, from a PrC in this faction to feats in that faction to a new monster in another.

At the moment, Planar Factions Collected is available as a PDF here for $11.95, and as a print-on-demand hard copy here for $22.95. Although they aren't up yet, the factions will also be available as individual PDFs, for those who are only interested in some of the factions presented.

On behalf of myself and Ronin Arts, I hope you enjoy, and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. :)

(Update: The individual PDFs are now available for $1.95 each, if you only wish to purchase a few of them, rather than the whole shebang. Follow the same link, presented above.)

Any chance for a preview of the product? A table of contents and a piece of description would be most welcome.

Two reasons for this:
1. I would like to know what kind of organizations are available, the degree of detail presented (for example, are there any sample challenges or faction paragons/goons/leaders) and subgenre (fantasy, technofantasy, chaos fantasy, dark fantasy) used.
2. Is the PDF screen friendly? Font size, bookmarks etc.

I have a short question on The Steadfast Order of the Shapers of Earthen Splendors: What techlevel are they and can they be easily modelled in a Victorian style? I was thinking of making them a Victorian age secret society, who travel the planes in their quest for understanding the multiverse. Their society would be built on Victorian Age England, but still routed in fantasy...

Well, the assumed tech level is high medieval with alchemy--IOW, D&D standard.

That said, it would be simplicity itself to modify the Shapes for Victorian play, especially given the inspiration for creating them. You see, the entire point of the Shapers was to bring an equivalent of the Freemasons (only with actual magics) into D&D. :)

Thanks a lot, Phil. That answers the first part of the question number 1.

Are there any sample NPCs (goons, leaders, typical cultists) included? Is there a listing of stereotypical markings, fashion guidelines etc?

Regards,
Ruemere

There are sample NPCs for a few of the organizations, but not for all. In many instances, I felt it more appropriate to focus on other aspects for the mechanical/"crunchy" part of the entry.

Very cool. Were you inspired by the Planescape factions or something else?

Not exactly. Part of this material comes from a contract I was hired for years ago, before the company went belly-up without either publishing or paying. The rest was just various ideas that came to me in the process. I was certainly aware of the Planescape factions, but I didn't have them specifically in mind.
