By the way - to head off anyone objecting - a font is expressly exempted from the Geneva convention on copyrights - though the name of the font is capable of protection - the typeface is not as a matter of law.

This is why when you try to search for a font online - you get 12,000 hits linking various ways to the same fonts for sale. This is not an accident. Font foundries spend vigorous amounts of money to prevent searching on the net to find the fonts you want by searching for them. Obfuscation of information as a means of market protection to make it deliberately hard for you to find font resources.

Binary newsgroups, however, are a fine source for cloned fonts.

I knew they weren't copyrightable, but I didn't know that's why they are so difficult to find online. It does make a lot of sense. This link seems to be down. Any other links for these?

While we're talking about fonts, anyone know what the font used for Conan is? And I don't mean baldur, the other one used in the Conan book by Mongoose.
