I have put some thought into it myself but not enough to actually start a game.
Yet...

Anyway be content with the 3rd edition shadowrun rule. THey're goog enough.

What's the difference between Shadowrun and d20 Modern/Urban Arcana ... besides the obvious rules system?

d20 Modern/Urban Arcana are a step towards Shadowrun, but there's still a few things missing. Chief among them are cybernetics and the matrix (or whatever Shadowrun called it). You may have to tweak the races some, account for allergies, deal with totems, etc. Plus consider that d20 Modern is, well, modern and Shadowrun is approximately 50-60 years in the future.

If a person were to take d20 Modern, Urban Arcana, and OGL Cybernet, they could come out of it with a fairly good d20 version of Shadowrun, rules-wise. You would have to make some tweaks, of course.

I believe Shadowrun was the one game that should have gone over to D20 that didn't. It is already just DnD with guns in a lot of ways.

I think that had Fasa/Fanpro done a D20 Shadowrun when D20 modern came out, it could have been the "killer app" that really pushed D20 Modern.

A lot of the people I know like Shadowrun in large part because it is not d20. Particularly, that it is not class based and all skill-based.

But a d20 Shadowrun would definitely have gotten some good sales.
