Appearance:

Norgim is tall (for a dwarf) and of slight build with a commanding presence. He is meticulous about his appearance, mainly regarding his weapon and his harness. Maintenance of these items, even when not needed is of utmost importance. His battleaxe, given to him by his king, is not only an instrument of war, but also a symbol of his devotion, a symbol that should be guarded with his life. He may relinquish it only upon his death or surrender it back to his clan.

Background:

Since his youth, Norgim has trained to become a great champion; one that would make his fathers proud. As a member of the king’s guard, he became a proud veteran of two successful campaigns in the war against the hoard.
To reward him for his bravery, the king himself offered to him “Shields Bane,” one of the ancestral weapons of the court. Upon receipt of such a weapon, Norgim had vowed to follow the code of the champion and to evermore protect the virtue of all things good and in the best interest of the king and of the dwarven race.

Presently, he has set out to fulfill this promise on a grand mission, one that will test both his honor and his loyalty. He became an adventurer.

How do you make those funky scroll boxes you guys have your characters in? And why use 'em. It seems a bit less convenient than simply posting it. They must have some advantage, though, I've seen 'em often enough.

"Fatcoin" Bufo of Badwall
Badwall was a town full of malcontents, dissidents, and outcasts. Run by whatever rabble managed to hold control at any point, it was not a pleasant place to grow up. Bufo’s parents were dispossessed landowners on the run from something he would never learn of. Skirting from gang to gang during his youth, Bufo emulated his older brother Cane. Cane had been born with a shriveled leg, but this only made him work harder than the others. It also gave him a weapon that was always close at hand. By the time Bufo was 13 years old his parents had given up on both he and his brother. Their mother and father skipped town after a lucky grift without so much as leaving a letter. The brothers only learned of their predicament secondhand.

The following years saw the two in a variety of odd jobs: messenger, thief, bandit, slanderer, mercenary, bodyguard, and even a few legitimate trades. When the orcs from Pomarj invaded during the Greyhawk Wars, Badwall was one of the first towns to fall. Bufo and Cane escaped with their lives hastening to the docktowns on Woolly Bay and enlisting on the first pirate ship leaving port. Earning just enough coin to stay alive, the two scrappers fought side by side as they learned the life of piracy. Their captain was particularly incensed at the invasion from Pomarj, and led his sailing vessels against the orcs. It was after one fateful attack that the enemy struck back in reprisal. Three ships were capsized and sunk with all hands aboard. One of the crew members lost was Cane.

Sometime during the drunken stupor of the following years Bufo swore that he would avenge the death of his brother. The name of the killer was on the lips of every man, woman, and child in the Wild Coast: Turrosh Mak - the leader who had united the orcs of Pomarj. Cleaning himself up, Bufo used contacts to meet with the assassin’s guild of greyhawk in the town of Hardby. He convinced them to bring him on as an apprentice. All it cost him was his life if he ever broke their code.

So Bufo started shadowing trained killers on their missions. During one such outing, he was paired with a woman tracking the movements of the Knights of True Womanhood. While spying, Bufo asked his mistress teacher why she wanted to kill those in the knighthood. He still did not have the mind of a trained killer. In response, she turned her knives on him. Screaming for his life the knights came to Bufo’s rescue, but only managed to chase his teacher away. Grateful for their help but knowing his life would soon be over he lied to the Knights. It was something he did passing well. In return he was given a small reward for alerting them to the assassin whom he noticed was spying. With that little gold, Bufo left Hardby immediately and did not look back. Stowing away on a ship headed north he took on as a sailor. He made his way through the Nyr Dyv and up into the Velverdyva. Now alone in unknown lands he only hopes he has run far enough.

STORY
Yondo was a crossbowman in the guard of a minor lord. The lord was corrupt and cruel, and his subjects rebelled against him several days ago. Underestimating the mob, the lord led a band of his soldiers (of whom Yondo was one) to put down the rebellion, but was instead killed, and most of his forces wiped out. Yondo escaped and has been on the run since, not daring to return, as the rebels are taking revenge on all of the lord's former servants and soldiers.

He is a fair hand with a crossbow, but not very bright or courageous. He is likely to fall in with the first authority figure or band who will have him and offer some sense of security.

APPEARANCE
Short, thin, fair skin, a little dirty and bruised up. Plain beige clothing under his armor.

STORY:
Vergart is what could be best described as a Missionary. He has appointed himself the representative of Kord and actively tries to convert the "heathen Masses" that do not know His greatness. The problem is, most of the time he tries to convert them with Kords Will, his warhammer. He cannot seem to understand why he has gained a bit of a reputation as being violent and is shunned in most civilised areas since he's "just trying to show the way to Kords' blessed light"

Appearance:
Vergart is fairly tall, around 5' 10", and decently muscled. He has a shock of bright tred hair that looks like it's never been combed (it hasn't) and a broad, kind face. He truly believes that Kord is the One True God and will prattle on about His greatness until the "heathen" either tells him to go away or walks away themselves.

OOC: I was never happy with the idea of the "warrior Cleric" that would go out and kill things and stuff. just didn't seem right for some reason. Then I thought "well what about the 'less goodly' religions, like Kord? Thats JUST the kind of thing a priest or shaman of a religion like that might do!" So, here is Vergart...
