While I'm not a Drizzt fan, at least they'll be starting this thing off with a popular character. Like it or not, that could get at least some attention into this...

I have wanted D&D comics for awhile now. I did see some of the Kenzer comics released a couple of years ago, but they just didn't have that "something" I was looking for in a D&D comic. I hope Devil's Due does them well (the covers look good, but no interior preview.) Devil's Due publishes GI Joe and perhaps they'll be taking on Transformers soon, as well.

Any chance they may pick up the old storyline from the old DC Comics, or is that exclusively for DC Comics? The one with a gold elf, a Halruaa wizard, and golem with a personality, and paladin, and a Kara-Tur woman? Oh yeah, and a halfling.

"Spell Jammers"? Did I have one of those moments when you slip into a parallel world that is almost identical to the one you left, but not quite? I could have sworn the setting name was "Spelljammer". Or is there another thing called "Spell Jammers"?

(I mention this because you rarely see mistakes in trademarked items in press releases. Unless the Spelljammer comic was called "Spell Jammers".)

If they wanted a younger audience, they should have given it to Archie comics. (Well, the Archie-verse does have ghosts and witches, so it's not too much of a stretch)

Devil's Due would do well to hire Todd Lockwood to paint the covers, much like Alex Ross does for DC Comics. THOSE would catch the eye in a comic book store.

The site isn't working for me, but the idea of a "proper" D&D comic intrigues me. I just hope that they make it with a good artistic style (NOT cartoony) and reasonable writing quality. Might give me the kick I need to start comic-collecting. :D

I've read quite a few Devil's Due comics, and I think they can pull this off. If they can make "G.I. Joe" worth reading they should be able to do good things with D&D.

They already had a D&D comic book....and a Saturday morning cartoon.

Oh joy....more about Drizz't. <sarcasm> I'm just so excited. </sarcasm>
