Favored Souls & Domains

Favored Souls don't get domains or domain spells do they? I'm fairly certain that they don't but the class just looks so weak that I'm thinking maybe they are supposed to. It seems to me that a Favored Soul, compared to a Cleric, gives up far more than a Sorceror, compared to a Wizard. Has their been official talk about re-balancing the class?

Or maybe I'm just wrong. Could someone who's played a Favored Soul for a while comment on how they compare to a normal Cleric in 3.5?

I've never played one but looking it over I'm pretty sure they don't though. However, I think it actually looks like a fun class to play and was thinking of one as my backup character in the current game I am in.

I like the concept of the favored soul, and I like using it for Paladin/FS caster/warriors. Paladin4/FavoredSoul16 as a simple example, nets you +16 BAB and 8th level spells, along with paladin turn undead to power divine feats.

That's crazy ;). It never struck me before making a FS the other week....

Kind regards
Yeah, I just don't get that one. I'd probably houserule it otherwise.

I really think that they ought to have Domains and Turn Undead. From a flavor perspective, I cannot fathom why they would not.

I've been experimenting with some means of adding Domains to them without unbalancing them.

I think no Knowledge (religion) makes sense. I see the class as designed for the farmer who doesn't know anything about religion, but witnessed some divine event that granted him the power of miracle. He feels his god's power, but was never book-learned on him.

Goodness me, that was the opposite of my thinking when I read the class! I've had a spontaneous divine caster in my campaign for years (the 'prophet'), but it was much weaker than the favoured soul and still kicked ass.
