Talents, according to AE, are feats that can only be taken at 1st level. Additionally, you may only have 1 (unless you are unbound, in which case you can have 2). I think these work for d&d about as well as AE. Have at them!

Spell Prodigy [Talent]
You have an innate gift for magic.
Benefit: Choose a spellcasting class (you may choose a class even if you do not have levels in it yet). When determining bonus readied and bonus slots per day treat the spellcasting attribute for that class as 2 points higher than it actually is.
Special: You may take this feat a second time after you can cast 7th level spells. All your spell DCs increase by 1.

Lucky [Talent]
You have always been favored by fortune.
Benefit: Once per day you may choose to reroll any d20. You must keep the second roll, even if it is lower than the first.
Special: You may take this feat again after 10th level and again after 20th level. Each time you gain this feat, you may use this ability another time per day (2/day after 10th, 3/day after 20th).

Bashful [Talent]
You are naturally bashful, blushing under scrutiny. Most people find this endearing.
Benefit: You gain a +2 competence bonus to charisma checks and related skill checks (except Intimidate) when you act in a bashful manner.

Renaissance Person [Talent]
You are naturally good at anything you put your mind towards.
Benefit: You gain a +1 competence bonus to any skill you have at least 5 ranks in.
Special: You may take this feat again after 20th level. You gain a +2 competence bonus to any skill you have at least 15 ranks in.

they are optional, but it seems the default uses them unlike most optional rules were the default does not use them. I guess they are like prestige classes in that way.

In that case then Lucky seems fine.

For lucky I would extend the 20 always means a sucess to everything, and that a nat. one only means one not a natural failure. I'm not sure how powerful that is, but it's floating around my head for a while.
