ROUND IV is OVER!!
















Round III was very productive (perhaps due to the earlier elimination of the +2/+2 feats) and eliminated 5 feats:

Run with 12 votes
Tower Shield Proficiency with 8 votes
Deflect Arrows with 8 votes
Medium Armour with 6 votes
Endurance with 5 votes (and should consider itself unlucky)

Improved Counterspell scraped through by the skin of it's teeth. Last round it would have gone.

ROUND III Award
The "I think the same way as my favourite feats" Award goes to Steelwind and Darkelfo for trying to Countervote Improved Counterspell. It didn't work (sorry guys - it would take too much book-keeping) but perhaps your impassioned defence helped save it for another round - nobody voted for Imp Counterspell after it was defended.

THE RULES

1) Each round will only last a day or two, so make sure you get your votes in!
2) Only one vote per person. One FEAT only - and no multiple persona's please
3) In the first few rounds I will eliminate more than one loser- this will help us get to the nitty gritty.
4) Make it obvious which Feat you are voting for, in bold, at the top of your post. Write what you like in defence of your choice, or about how your favourite was eliminated, but make it easy for me to collate results!
5) Once a new round has started - let the previous thread die. (I might even ask the moderators to lock it)
6) I've only chosen the Basic Feats from the 3.5 SRD - the 3.5 version of the feat is the one you should be basing your eviction on
7) You can't change your vote within a round.
8) You don't need a 'good' reason for your vote. Petty reasons are just fine.
9) Oh, and don't quote the initial post! It's too long!

FORGE RING [ITEM CREATION]
Why wait till 12th level to do the same thing you can do with Craft Wondrous Items.
Besides, I hate feats/spells/powers with associated XP costs.
 


Leadership
For reasons previously mentioned. Should have voted for it even earlier.
Armor and shield profs and spell mastery also deserve to be gone soon.

ENLARGE SPELL

Partly because it's one of the more useless metamagic feats, but also because it looks too much like the junk I get in my email.

Mmmmm - wizard spam. Beware of strange spells you don't recognise in your spell book, and don't open any unknown "attachments" whatever you do.

As a side note, I seem to have chosen a number of "sub-optimal" feats for several of my characters. My PC-making fu is obviously low. One character has both Endurance and Run. Boy, do I feel embarrassed. Oddly, I'm less likely to "waste" feats like this on NPCs, I think.

Let the bloodletting on Metamagic begin.

4 levels higher? Okay - dropping seventh level spell slot for a uber_nasty fireball is kinda cool...but it would be cooler still if you didn't have to lose feats to be able to do this.

It's not that these are bad feats. On the contrary, they are highly useful - they are just expensive for what they do. They simply shouldn't be feats at all. They are not taken often enough.

All metamagic feats should all be increasingly harder DC checks against Spell Mastery - just like they are in Rolemaster.
