Yes, it had to happen again eventually. Throwing Dice Games finally makes it fourth release, the second product in its Notebook Essentials product line. It is Before Level One. A 10 page PDF describing both a way to handle the professions you PC may have had before attaining level one in an adventuring class and how to handle adventuring at these neophyte levels.
The basic idea is that those extra skill points you have at level 1 must come from somewhere. Why limit them to the Fighter or Wizard skill list when some of them can come from a background class? A former sailor will have access to a different skillset then a former barkeep. And both profession have a different skillset than your average ranger has.
So, it's a way to codify your character's background and it's a way to adventure with some really fragile characters. All this for just $2. How can you go wrong?
