Dev
The dev (druj for females) is a foul demon serving the dark god Ahriman of Persian mythology. They appear as horned, vaguely cat-like creatures with large, toothy jaws, human eyes, tails, and sharp claws. Their main delight is causing idol worship and apostasy.

To build the dev, I used the rakshasa as my base, then replaced its spell abilities with rage, visage of ahriman, concupiscence, and amoral. Instead of having a vulnerability to piercing weapons, it is vulnerable to fire. Is any other change necessary?

Amoral (Su): It is nearly impossible to catch a dev in a lie or see through a dev’s disguise. A dev always takes 20 on Bluff checks opposed by a Sense Motive check. In addition, anyone attempting to use a divination spell on a dev must first succeed an opposed character level test. The caster rolls d20 + their level + Wisdom modifier. The dev rolls d20 + HD/level + Charisma modifier. Only if the caster wins the check does the spell reveal the truth. Otherwise the spell indicates a suitably vague and benign nature.
Change Shape (Su): A dev can assume any animal or humanoid form. In addition, some devs can take on draconic forms; this breaks the normal rule limiting the size of a new shape to one size category larger. Changing shape requires a standard action. A dev remains in one form until it chooses a new one or it is killed. A true seeing spell reveals is natural form.
Concupiscence (Su): By playing on human fears during conversation, a dev can exaggerate a person’s innate weaknesses, often causing them to act against their better interest. A dev must be able to converse with the target to use this power. This power can be resisted on a successful Will save (DC 10 + Charisma modifier + Perform). The power lasts until the dev is killed, the dev voluntarily releases the enchantment, or the target suffers a deep personal loss. When the power ends, a Sense Motive check (DC 15) realizes the dupe. If real misdeeds were cited by the dev, the DC is increased to 20. If the fail saves, the target is affected by one of four options:
1. Despondency – The target loses all interest in life. They slowly stop eating, withdrawing from work and relationships. The target will resist any ideas that require too much work or changes to the status quo. The target is in a constant state of fatigue.
2. Illness – The target contracts any non-magical illness over the next day or two. No magical remedies work to remove this illness.
3. Mistrust – The target gradually stops trusting a person or group close to them, plotting against the person or group behind the scenes.
4. Wrath – The target, believing themselves to be on a divine mission, will set out to conquer or reap vengeance on some person, group, or nation.
Detect Thoughts (Su): A dev can continuously use detect thoughts as the spell (caster level 18th; Will DC 15 negates). It can suppress or resume this ability as a free action. The save is Charisma-based.
Visage of Ahriman (Su): The dev can cause itself to grow to great heights, becoming especially fearful. As a standard action, the dev shifts its size category up by two sizes, becoming Huge. The dev gains +16 Strength, +8 Constitution (increasing HP accordingly), and the base damage for its claw attacks increases to 1d8 and its bite attack increases to 2d6. In this form the dev is frightening to anyone within 60 feet. A potentially affected creature that succeeds a Will save (DC 15 + the dev’s Charisma modifier) remains immune to the dev’s visage for 24 hours. On a failed roll, creatures with 4 or less HD become panicked for 4d6 rounds, while those with 5 or more HD become shaken for 4d6 rounds. Dragons, devs, and characters with the Reaper of Dragons feat are immune to this fear effect. The dev can only maintain this form for 10 rounds each day, and while so enlarged cannot use its change shape, concupiscence, or detect thought powers.
Rage (Ex): As per the barbarian’s rage ability. This power is useable a number of times per day equal to the dev’s Constitution modifier, and it stacks with barbarian levels.
Skills: A dev has a +4 racial bonus to Bluff, Disguise, and Perform. When using change shape, a dev gains an additional +10 circumstance bonus on Disguise checks. If reading an opponent’s mind, its circumstance bonus on Bluff and Disguise checks increases another +4.
