Toronto/jazz trip ideas

I'd like to take a day (2 day actually) trip to Toronto at the end of the month for dinner and to catch a couple jazz clubs. Any suggestions on hotels near clubs or clubs to see?

This probably belongs in the off-topic forum where it would also stay on that front page a bit longer.

Don't know a lot about jazz but I know The Red Guitar (http://theredguitar.com) is new and that Melissa Stylianou (http://www.melissastylianou.com/) was nice when I met her while working on a student group project about jazz, you could watch for her upcoming shows under "Performances".

Anyone else have a recommendation?

I can't give you names of Jazz Clubs but there are several good places to stay downtown. Have you coinsidered a B&B? There are actually several downtown that are nice. I'd check out Toronto.com. Map out your jazz events and look for hotels nearby. Even not so nearby. Toronto has great mass transit and you can get all over the city quite effectively on the trains, and even by walking.
