We attacked the Gazebo...(and I need a gaming table)

Mystery Man

First Post
We attacked the gazebo and won! It took two weekends and several pulled muscles, cuts and scrapes, but we won!! WE WON!! I don't know how many hit points that thing had, its DR was amazing and niether one of us had any magic weapons. Just two sledge hammers and a will to succeed....

Let me back up just a bit. A buddy of mine bought a house out in the boonies and it has several buildings on the property, one of which is another living structure built around a gazebo that was at one time an outdoor structure itself. The indoor gazebo served as a temple for whatever religion the lady who owned the house previously worshipped. Some sort of monkeygod or something because there was this statue of a sitting monkey with its hand up, palm out on a dias inside the gazebo... But anyway, (I swear I'm not making any of this up) this thing would still be standing long after the fall of civilization and the extinction of mankind. I'm still marveling at how well this friggin' thing was put together. You could dynamite the building and the gazebo would still be standing...

So, all that to get to this: We plan on making the large living room area a game room and want to build a custom gaming table. Does anyone know if there are any cool plans on the internet for tables that serve just such a function?

I've never seen plans, per se, but I've seen descriptions of some neat stuff here and there.
Not too long ago on this site (try clicking back a few pages) someone described a setup where they got a cheap electronic projector on ebay and hung it over the table to project maps for their minis to move around on (I'd find some diffuse plastic or glass and project from below if I did it - to avoid shadows). I've seen a couple of descriptions of setups where everyone had their own little space with shelves underneath for their stuff and outlets for their computers, etc. A built in fridge undeerneath would be a nice touch. :) Go wild.

Use parts of the Gazebo to make the table. Then you can say that you have a Gazebo hide table made from a wild gazebo you killed after it got into your living room. Only RPGers will get the joke.

I've always thought a simple hex- or octagonal card table would make a great gaming table, the same kind that you can buy at Wal-Mart etc... the kind with built-in drink holders and chip holders (or in your case, dice-holders... or chip n' dip holders). Throw some felt on it and voila.

If only. That thing is in pieces and pretty much unsalvagable. The kind of destruction that can only happen when you get two guys with sledge hammers who don't know what they're doing.
