Does anyone else never play humans?

I've recently realized that I have a pattern of not playing any human characters. It's not that they are underpowered or anything, but I think it's just the blandness that makes it hard for me. I like the stat adjustments, racial abilities, and roleplaying chalanges that other races present.

Does anyone else never or almost never play humans?

Actually, I tend to pick humans for the same reason you don't. I find most other races blander than a human. No matter how hard players try, I think 75% of all non-humans stick to their stereotypes. I find the extra feat and additional skill points allow me to better customize my character.

Different strokes for different folks, i guess...thats the beauty of roleplaying

I usually try to avoid playing humans because they seem overdone, but every since I realized that I play a proportionally small amount of humans, I decided to play more of them...

When I can play, I play whatever. The reasoning that humans are bland is what leads to half-fiend minotaur PCs that the player gets tired of after three sessions. There are no bland races, only bland characters. Numbers and powers are cool - for two sessions, maybe.

Hello,

Most of my characters seem to be humans these days. I just find I have afew more options that way (at least to my mind).

Cheers :)

I guess I go roughly fifty fifty human and non human. My last ones have been Human ranger wizard, Dwarf monk, Human Soulknife, Aranea warshaper rogue, Celestial Littoran natural Werelion,

I'm pretty much the same way myself, I hardly ever play humans unless the DM or the campaign allows no other choice. I naturally gravitate towards the oddball characters. Check out my sig if you want to see what I've currently got on my plate; not a single human in the bunch. I even find elves, half-elves and dwarves to be a little too vanilla for my tastes. I think Savage Species is a great book and has some fun ideas for future characters. :D

I'd say that 90% of the time I play a human character. I reeeeeally like the extra feat and skill points. Beyond that, I have a difficult time playing non-humans as anything other than a-human-in-a-funny-suit. Which is odd, because I have no trouble whatsoever DMing non-human races as other than human.

Go figure...
