What monsters do you want to see in Dragon magazine? (#2)

Choose as many as you like! see below for notes.

BOZ

Creature Cataloguer
Time for another round of this!

In our last query, about half of the monsters we suggested were conversions, and the other half were new ideas from Shade and myself. Of the six creatures that were accepted, five of them were conversions. That suggests to me that either our new ideas were not as special as we had hoped, or that conversions were what Dragon was looking for. This is perfectly fine; as you know, conversions are our specialty. :)

So, this time I chose all of these creatures myself, all of them coming from the 1E monster books (Monster Manual, Fiend Folio, Monster Manual II) and/or the 2E Monstrous Manual and Monstrous Compendium annuals. Yep, there are quite a few, and probably only 15-20 of them will make it into the actual query.

And people wonder if there are any actual monsters left to convert to 3E! Well, the better question might be if there are enough *quality* monsters left to convert. ;) I left off any creatures that have been rejected in any of our recent queries; no sense in revisiting that any time soon.

Your favorite unconverted critter not on this list? Don't worry - we've done this before, and we'll probably do it again, at least until we're sick of it. :) Dragon has printed two of our articles (plus one that Shade wrote solo) and accepted a few more from us, so they must at least like us a little bit. ;)

Cave Fisher! I used to love those in 2nd Ed; great subterranean creature! The Umpleby also gets my vote, along with several others. I always thought the Umpleby (umplebies? :-p) were interesting creatures, though I have yet to use one in an encounter.

Pst. BOZ. The slithering tracker might win votes, but it probably won't make it in. Why? James Jacobs has his own conversion, and is probably going to be using them in a new Dungeon feature called "Wandering Monsters", detailed here.

...which means that you might consider submitting these to Dungeon instead. So many choices!

Demiurge out.

Cave fisher and rot grub have got ol' slithery beat, anyway. ;)

I'm keen on the new feature. I've already queried Mr. Jacobs about rejected Dragon queries having a shot at it (yes, but doubtful as their tastes are similar).
