New Elven Favoured Class?

Okay, I am doing thins a bit differently now, due to some insights from the last poll.

I'm getting rid of the arbitrary ghost classes, adding in Favoured Class: any, added in which books these classes are from and I'm also stating some different criteria (as follows

When you think elf (****NOT**** Dark elf, he's coming along a bit later, along with the evil dwarves - this is for any of the standard sub races), what do you think of first? A powerful arcanist weilding magical might from aeons and ages past; stealthy hunters in the woods who kill orcs and such by the dozens; gentle nature priests who call upon their gods for power; barbarous desert nomads; or somethign completely different?

If you were in charge of WotC, what would the elves favoured class be?

Personally, I am not really sure *what* to put.

Elven spellcasters, elven rangers, elven healers, elven bards and elven fighters are featured in LotRs, which is my main influence in regards to D&D elves, and thus I am not sure how to vote in this poll.

Personally, I think a less druid-y druid would work, so shaman might be a choice I should consider, although it's a little oriental OTOH. I may end up going with druid, since it really does fit them the best, IMO.

I'll have to mull over this, I suppose...

For the Elves of D&D 3e (which to me are *utterly* different to say, LotR elves, traditional Norse 'elves' or British Isles 'elves'.. and so on), I'm very tempted to go with Ranger. It's what I've traditionally said should be their favoured class ever since I first saw the 3e PHB back in 2001.

So I guess I'll still go with that. Looks like I'm not alone there either. Though Sorcerer is leading at the moment. Interesting. Kind of like it is already, only on the more spontaneous, 'bloodline' angle of full-on arcane magic. I can grok that.

Duskblade would be my second choice, I suppose.

Ack, I dunno. :\

It was nose and nose between Sorcerer and Ranger for me, but in the end, I went with sorcerer. Wizard, though, is just silly. Where do you keep your arcane library in a tree?

Like I said in the last poll, our group has multiple favored classes for races.

Elf gets Scout and Duskblade.

I'm also thinking about adding either Sorcerer or Druid to the list, not sure which one.

I voted Scout, though.
