One of the most dreaded creatures lurking in the Inner Llan is the Afid Shree, a creature of bark and leaf, similar to dragonkind, but of the realm of the fey. What appears to be bark, and foliage can be suddenly and fataly deceiving. Lurking mainly in the deepest of forests where their bark like skin can be used as camoflage Afid shree have been a menace for any who enter their domain. Arch-Nemesis to the Treant's and forest dwellers in the Llan such as the leafshadow elves. Afid Shree are most dangerous during the night when their prowling instincts are more awake, and where it is harder to see them.
The Afid Shree appears to be a large dragon like creature made from bark, and covered in foliage, they have large flightless, prehensile wings that are more often mistaken for tree limbs, than for what they truly are. They understand sylvan, and draconic but cannot speak themselves,
There are many examples of the Afid Shree that are not found in forests at all the Myren Shree, or Bog Serpent has been reported in the Byre Mog, and a rumor recently placed a creature similar to the Afid Shree in the mountains near the mist lands.
The Shree are the creations of the first arazun. In his guize as the Silent One he created many of the strange creatures still lurking in the wilds. To create a bog, mountain or desert variation of the Shree, simply change the appearance to one more appropriate and change the subtype to aquatic, cold, or fire. A smaller more friendlier version of this creature exists in the form of the Afid Homana or Forest Ape, a creature which is much more companionable and serves as a watchdog for such druids as Duirin (lear), and Malifainen.
Combat:
An Afid Shree will pursue and eat almost anything it can catch. It prefers to stalk its prey from a distance and ambush them using its spores ability first in an attempt to put its victims to sleep.
Improved Grab: To use this ability an Afid Shree must hit an opponent of up to one size smaller with its claw attack. It can attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check it establishes a hold a can try to rend the foe the following round.
