OK, spy fans -- Adamant Entertainment needs your input.

We've got some espionage manuscripts that we're considering moving forward with and releasing, so I want to know what sort of release you'd prefer:

(See poll above)

Options 2 and 3 are licensed.

Option 1 would be our own handling of the genre, similar to how we did pulp with THRILLING TALES (adventures, rules supplements, advanced classes, etc.).

If you have 'em for D20 Modern, then Hallelluyah (always looking for more of them). If not... well, Spycraft's okay (even if I have MnM 2nd Ed, 'True D20' I'm still not thrilled with).

I voted #1, but I'd also like to see True20 support, just to see what you could come up with...
(and on a side note, I'd love to see a True20 conversion of Skull & Bones)

I'd say True20, and here's why - Chuck and RPGObjects have some really excellent espionage support for D20M already, so you'd be competing there. Tr20 is relatively unbroken ground (with only Borrowed Time and Agents of Oblivion roughly in the genre) for spy thriller stuff. I'd have said Spycraft 2.0, but I'm unsure on the licensing terms they have going on, whereas I'm familiar with those of True20.

Damn, man...that's a rough choice!

I went with True20 as well for pretty much the same reasons as everyone else: there's enough out there already for d20 Modern and Spycraft.

Spycraft - it rocks.

Seriously though - what sort of suppliment you planning on doing? Just a generic book on spies, or something else? If it's a how to play spies book, then Spycraft and D20 Modern have already got it covered, if its something on the lines of adventures, or expanded options etc, then I'd prefer Spycraft - no reason to reinvent the wheel.

If you're talking Clancey-esque thriller, I'd go with a Modern solution or supplement. But I've seen nothing do Bond-esque super-spy stuff quite like Spycraft. Heck, it can do the more hard-core stuff too, but it's not really built out of the starting-gate for that, in my opinion -- half of its potential gets wasted.

I'm interested in support for all the choices, but most likely a d20 product is the only one I would buy. Still a True20 and Spycraft neophyte here, while d20 Modern is second nature.

Hands down Spycraft 2.0. It is the most exciting modern ruleset update we are ever likely to get. Converting down to True20 is easier (for me) than converting up to SC.*

*Up and down in complexity

I've picked 'Other'. Why?

Of the three systems you listed, I only own Spycraft. Given that if you published anything for Spycraft it'll be for the v2 rules-set that doesn't help me (I much prefer v1).

So, personally, I would like something either for Spycraft v1 or your own system. Heh, if I manage to persuade WotC to let me distribute free PDFs of the old Top Secret/S.I. rules-set I'd love for you to publish stuff for that.

Having said all this. If the stuff was generic enough I'd probably buy it anyway (given that I'm a massive espionage fan). In fact, if you fancy any cross-promotion with Modus Operandi just let me know.
