Eric Noah, stay out of this thread. Everybody else, hop on in.

Eric, I'm not kidding. You'll find out what this is all about soon enough...Go on and get out.

Spoiler space

Hokay, I've e-mailed and PMed a bunch of you about this already but I wanted to open this up to the community at large. I'm putting together something as a Christmas gift to Eric Noah (for you new folks, he's the "EN" from ENWorld). What I'd like you to do is take just a minute or two and write your response to the phrase "What ENWorld means to me". It doesn't matter whether it's just a couple sentences or a huge post. I'd just like your genuine feelings. And please don't feel like you shouldn't write something because you might not say it JUST right. Just say what you feel.

I'm going to gather the responses and bind them into a booklet that will be sent to him.
If you'd like to participate then please post by the end of the week (Friday) so I can get this put together and sent to him before Christmas. And if you for whatever reason don't want to post it in public, feel free to PM or e-mail me with it. I'll make sure that nobody but Eric sees it (well, I can't help if he shows it to his grandma...).

Thanks for your help,

Rel, (ENWorld Moderator, though really not the best one)

ENWorld is the place I go when I need to be immersed in the culture of D&D. Great art, cool computer widgets, excellent story hours… and that’s just the icing (I like to start with dessert and move to the main course :) ). Information about the latest books and pdfs, help with Rules, advice for life. Knowing that there are other people (lots of different kinds of people) out there that share this hobby. And all in one of the most positive environments on the Web. Thanks for starting such a place, Eric; and thanks to everyone who has participated since then to keep this place of ours alive.

What EN World Means to Me:

In an ancient Dragon magazine article, someone expounded upon the concept of a "hub of all activity", the central person or thing around which an entire D&D campaign revolved. EN World is the hub of all activity for D&D players. It's such an essential part of my D&D-playing experience that I cannot imagine playing D&D without also belonging to EN World.

ENWorld is my favorite website. It's my home page. It's the source of all my D&D news. I troll the boards for D&D education and entertainment. I don't goto WOTC's site except through links from ENWorld! This is THE site for D&D. Period.

ENWorld is the best source of D&D news, other news of interest to gamers and a fine community. This site is one that I check just about every day. The major part of its allure is how Eric set things up and the tone set by him and his grandma. I've met some excellent people at gamedays set up through ENWorld.

D&D has been a very good thing in my life and ENWorld has been a very good thing in my D&D. :)

Thank you, Eric; Merry Christmas!

ENWorld's reviews section has been invaluable to me in evaluating a variety of products, d20 and otherwise. Its news is consistently up to date and reliable, providing a wonderful hub of information. Its open calls forum has opened doors for me that I otherwise never would have known existed. Best of all, its forums are by a wide margin the most mature, polite and reasonable I've seen anywhere on the internet. :)

What ENWorld Means to Me:

ENWorld is a small home where I can see people that I may not know well, but they are familiar all the same. Eric Noah himself is a name that brings a smile to my face though I have never met him. I have spoken with Gary Gygax because of Eric. I have learned new things and actually been published because of things I saw on ENWorld. ENWorld is home.

Thank you Eric.

And thank you Rel.
