If you had to play one level of dnd till the end of time, any campaign, any setting what level would you play?
For me, it would be 6th. Fighter types have 2 attacks, mages have a decent array of spells, everyone has a few feats to play with, all the classes are starting to do their niche but everyone is relatively balanced with each other. I can get a lot of mileage out of 6th level.
