Background
----------

Solomon was born the first of two sons to Logos, Sorcerer of the second tier. His mother died when he was 10 leaving a distanced father to raise two boys allowing them to have their way. While Logos was able to train their minds, he was never the authority figure for either of his sons.

As is usual for his country, Solomon as the first-born entered military service at age 18. Being the son of a prominent Sorcerer, his skills in the arcane were balanced with military technique during his training. He was destined to become one of the bodyguards to the Emperor. His quick wit and natural charisma saw him rise quickly, but he was often too direct with his tongue and so was limited in his military advancement. His father (not in the military) had hoped for a son to follow his trade spent more of his time with Solomon's younger brother growing distant over the years.

After serving the compulsory military term (6 years) Solomon decided to offer his services outside of the Empire hiring on with Mercenaries traveling where they will.

Background
Gwaeryn comes from a small village on the borders.

His father was an elf who had a brief fling with his mother, but left when he found out she was pregnant. This naturally caused a certain amount of consternation among her proud family, but despite that he had a pleasant enough childhood, especially given his evident flair for hunting in the woods.

Unfortunately he suffers from a distinct fear of heights, possibly caused by an incident in his childhood where he was being pursued by some other children in the village (a regular occurrence at the time, due to his obvious racial difference). He attempted to escape them by running into the woods but got backed up against a cliff. He attempted to climb the cliff, but ended up getting stuck on a ledge near the top, where he remained for 2 days, before eventually being found.

He hopes to one day find his father, whom he feels abandoned him and his mother. His mother will tell him nothing, save a name...Aravel Deathwind.
