Mineral elementals hail from the quasi-elemental plane of Mineral, where the elemental plane of Earth borders on the Positive Material plane. Mineral elementals appear as lithe, angular humanoids made of various crystals, insectoid, with bulky, crystallized torsos, legs and forearms. With their dense crystal structures, mineral elementals are nearly impossible to transmogrify.

Mineral elementals speak Terran.

Combat:
Mineral elementals are as beautiful in combat as they are vicious, a symphony of whirling arcs and glinting, razor-sharp gemstones.

Immune to transformation (Ex): Mineral elementals are immune to spells or abilities which transform or otherwise change the nature of solid matter.

Push (Ex): A mineral elemental can start a bull rush maneuver without provoking an attack of opportunity.

Sharpness (Ex): Mineral elementals threaten a critical on an attack roll of 17 - 20.

Burrow (Ex): A mineral elemental can glide through stone, dirt, or almost any other sort of earth as easily as a fish swims through water. Its burrowing leaves behind no hole, nor does it create any ripple or other signs of its presence.

Mineral Elemental Sizes
Elemental Height Weight
Small 4 ft. 40 lb.
Medium 8 ft. 375 lb.
Large 16 ft. 3,000 lb.
Huge 32 ft. 24,000 lb.
Greater 36 ft. 27,000 lb.
Elder 40 ft. 30,000 lb.

Thank you!

I changed the Passwall ability to the Burrow ability shared by the quasi-mineral elementals on the Creature Catalog conversions list.

I'm thinking of removing the Push ability and replacing it with either of the following abilities, taken from other mineral elementals in the Creature Catalog:

Shatter Weapons (Ex): Any non-magical weapon that strikes a mineral elemental must succeed at a Fortitude save (DC X) or shatter into pieces.

Spell Reflection (Su): The crystalline structure of the mineral elemental has a 75% chance of reflecting any spell cast directly on it. Area spells are not affected. A reflected spell bounces in a random direction and has full effect on any creature in the area. This ability functions similar to spell turning.

Any thoughts?

Maybe I should give mineral elementals a choice of several powers, determined by the type of mineral they are: Spell Reflection, Sharpness, or Shatter Weapon -- then it wouldn't be too overpowering, and there'd be a variety of options available tot he summoner, without making the mineral elemental itself oto powerful.

No thoughts on variable powers for mineral elementals?

I suppose if I did it for them, then I'd have to do it for all the quasielementals -- which would be quite a bit of work.

I suppose we can leave the optional powers to individual elemental creatures. :)

I like the optional abilities for them. Perhaps you can link the abilities to certain minerals that the creature is more made of.
