In the 4e seminar, it was mentioned that many products coming out this fall/winter would be edition-proof and sport a little logo for that. So, when you purchase the Book-of-Evil-Dudes (or whatever it is called), when 4e rolls around, you will get a 4e stat eratta so you can still use the book.
My main questions (since it affects my purchasing this Fall/Winter) is which books are protected, and will those books be part of the on-line database for 4e, and will materials in these books be usable in the map generator or character generator (if applicable)?
