I don't like having a character that lasts for one battle. The routine of waking up using your abilities in a couple of battles and being useless for the day. I am looking at a couple of different gestault combos. One being a wizard/warblade at 5th level he could have two of the spell reserve feats and an extra feat floating around as a human. The other option that has me intrigued is going with monk/sorcerer. Throw in the draconic template and human paragon. Take the ascetic mage feat for the charisma to ac of course. I also like the speed boost from this combo. I think that the monk version plays out better for the spellcaster role which is what I think we will be missing. The progression at 5th plays out as
1st Draconic LA/Sorcerer 1
2nd Human Paragon1/Sorcerer 2
3rd Human Paragon2/Monk 1
4th Human Paragon 3/Monk 2
5th Monk 3/Sorcer 3
At this point he would have 4 feats Ascetic Mage, Fiery Burst, Winter's Blast, Acidic Splatter
At 6th I would pick up Storm Bolt
He would have a decent AC using a cloak of Cha +2 and dropping the 18 in charisma. Throw on another +2 from the draconic template and another +2 from the human paragon boost. This would give him the 24 charisma for a +7 to AC. Throw a Mage armor on to help out the situation and he would have a decent AC. The only problem would be the lack of variety in his highest level spell.
The Wizard variant would make him more melee combat campable through higher HP and attack bonus. AC wouldn't be quite as high, he would have a larger variety of high level spells known and be able to prepare them. Basically the same feat selection except he wouldn't have a need for the ascetic mage spell. The progression for this would be
1st Warblade 1/Wizard 1
2nd Human Paragon 1/Wizard 2
3rd Human Paragon 2/Warblade 2
4th Human Paragon 3/ Warblade 3
5th Warblade 4/Wizard 3
Here he could have the headband of Int +2 and the +2 from the human Paragon. He could have an Intelligence of 22 and have the Fiery Burst, Acidic Splatter , Wintery Blast, and Storm Bolt
At 6th he could pick up the Clap of Thunder feat
This would give him access to all the elements earlier, with unlimited usage of all of them.
All of his upper level spells for the day would be used up for the spell reserve spells.
Another thing I was wonering about is spells that have multiple elemental effects in them. One spell for two of the feats would be useful.
The only reason I am trying to figure this out is that I am getting ready to go into the Red Hand of Doom and the DM said that there will be very little chance to rest. I am going to try to play an arcane spellcaster, mainly because I doubt anyone else will.
If there are any other suggestions out there I am open to them. I have put a little thought into the warlock, but no build ideas yet.
