Does anyone know of a prestige class or feat a wizard can take that allows them to gain the Retain Essence ability and/or a craft reserve?
In an upcoming game I had a player show interest in playing an artificer or wizard who crafts magic items. The players will be cut off from a source of buying or selling magic items for a long time, and he wants a way to get rid of items they don't need and still get a bonus from them.
I don't want to allow artificers. It's a traditional Greyhawk campaign and the lack of action points would seriously slow down an artificer in combat. I wouldn't be opposed to him having a feat or the ability to retain the essence from a prestige class, but I've never seen one that allows this.
