Chris Thomasson on his Playtest

Chris Thomasson has a post up on Gleemax talking about his 4e playtest. I think the most interesting comment is:

Character creation is more complex in some ways, but much simpler in others. All in all, I think it takes about the same amount of time to make a 4th Edition character as a 3E character, faster if you have someone to help walk you through.

It also sounds like this playtest is just running the pregen characters through a series of standard fights more than a module. I don't know if these are the same playtest characters sent to the external playtesters though.

But I saw some art for an upcoming adventure en***led "The Last Breaths of Ashenport," by Ari Marmell, yesterday...
En***led?! ;) That sounds like the word filters at Gleemax needs some more work.

This is some of the coolest art I've seen in any product produced for D&D.
Oooo so close. A WotC staffer managed to go seven paragraphs telling us about 4e without describing something as "cool" in a slack-jawed stoner-like fashion, then fumbled in the end zone, a mere couple of sentences from touchdown.

(However, in fairness, this is for a 3.5 adventure. ;) )
