Like I said in the other polls

A new year begins, and 3rd edition D&D comes close to its end.

The time for judgement has arrived. Over the coming days I will do a series of polls to see what was good, what was bad, and what was meh.

This one is WotC adventures and locations: places where DMs can torture, er I mean run great adventures, for their PCs. This includes some books that where arguably “monster books” and some eberon and realms adventures.

Wow, an entire poll about which I own zero of the books. Needless to say, though, it doesn't mean I didn't like any. I liked a fair number on the list (Ravenloft, Fiendish Codices, etc). I didn't like any of the "element books, though (Sandstorm, Frostburn, etc).

I have one of those, and since I never ran it all the way through, I don't know if I liked it.

Honestly, I don't think Cityscape, Dungeonscape, Frostburn, Sandstorm, Stormwrack, and the Fiendish Codex books should have been in this poll. I think they belong in the first poll (the same for Heroes of Battle and Heroes of Horror in poll 2).

The above aside, I didn't vote for too many products in this poll as I don't buy or look at adventures and that alone cut my list of items for which to vote.

I voted that I liked both Stormwrack and Fiendish Codex I which are two of my favorite DND books from WOTC. I voted that I disliked Frostburn (which is on my list of worst books from WOTC).

Dungeonscape, Sandstorm, and Fiendish Codex II I didn't vote for as I found them decent, but nothing to write home about (note: this is not a bad thing as more than half of WOTC's non-adventure/non-tile/non setting specific releases are on my don't like list)

Sandstorm was a mixed bag. as I found several things that I didn't like (the Asheratis, the PrCs, alchemical items, most of the feats, a few spells ).

Dungeonscape also had a lot of good stuff, but I didn't care for the factotum, the class variants, and a few other items which I can't recall.

Fiendish Codex II lost points for me, because I don't think it is nearly as good as Fiendish Codex I and additional points for the player oriented material.

I think you forgot the two prequels to the Anauroch adventure (Cormyr: the Tearing of the Weave and Shadowdale: the Scouring of the Land)!

The WotC site listed them as "Accessories", so they will be in the "Campaing Settings" pole.

This is one of my favorite 'areas' that WotC published, so I'm familiar with pretty much everything on that list.

My favorites:
- pretty much the favorites that are up there: Sunless Citadel, Forge of Fury, RttToEE, the FCs, and EtR.
- also, though, I was a fan of the last couple of adventures in the old 3.0 adventure path (Lord of the Iron Fortress and Bastion of Broken Souls)

Hated:
- the entire Fantastic Location series. What a failure.
- Expedition to Undermountain - in fact, I'm totally amazed it's doing even half as well as it's doing right now... Undeserving of even that, to say the least.
- Expedition to the Demonweb Pits, which I so wanted to like. Ugh.

(And yeah, why "Anauroch", but not Cormyr or Shadowdale?)

Oops... that was a bit of an error on their part (especially humorous due to the fact that Anauroch is considerably more of an accessory than the other two, by leaps and bounds - thanks to the reasonably large appendix detailing Anauroch itself). Weird.

Voyage of the Golden Dragon is an awesome adventure. It oozes cool pulpy noiry goodness.

As of right now I see that only the Fiendish Codexes and Red Hand of Doom have a 90% approval rating among people to voted for them at all.

Deep Horizon is the only thing with an 80% disapproval.
