[OT] Anime Music Videos

Has anyone else seen any of these? I've downloaded about 20 over the last few months (can take days over a 56k modem), and I can tell you some are pretty good. In particular, the video of Higher by Creed set to Dragonball Z is pretty awe inspiring. The Pain of Ryoko's Heart set to No Doubt's Don't Speak is a personal favorite as well.

I get them with Bearshare. Is a gnutella peer to peer program, just make sure you scan things with a virus detector program in case somebody isn't very nice.

Do a search for anime music video.

Dude half of my hard-drive is music videos. The majority DBZ but a smattering of others.

Try Anime Music Video. Org

It has good stuff.

My favs are
Adam's Song to Vegeta from DBZ
With You to Tenchi 2 the movie
Cause I am a Blonde set to various
Cowboy set to Trigun

Plenty of other but I don't feel like holding up more board space when my point is across.

Yeah, one of the highlights of going to Otakon is the anime music video competition. Great stuff.

Actually, one of the people I game with personally knows one of fine folks at otakuvengeance.com. I Just felt like putting that out there. Hey, it's the closest thing I've got to a real celebrity.

My favorite video would have to be the song "She's Actual Size" by They Might Be Giants set to The Slayers Motion Picture.

Wow, you sure are missing out. Visit here:

I suggest the following videos as some of my favorites.

  • General: Do a search for 'hair.' I don't recall the name of the video, but it's just clips from thousands of anime, making fun of the whacky hair characters have.

  • Cowboy Bebop: Hard Luck Woman, set to Train's "Drops of Jupiter." The most touching AMV I've ever seen.

Only watch this video if you've seen the series. You're missing all of the emotions and intensity if you don't know the character first. http://www.animemusicvideos.org/video.php?v=2238
  • El Hazard: Jinnai and the Bugrom Live!, set to Caramba's "Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot." It's probably not as funny if you can actually speak Swedish. Hilarious.

  • Neon Genesis Evangelion: Engel, set to Rammstein's "Engel" (which means 'angel'). Slightly disturbing, but masterfully done.

Some mild mild spoilers, but they really don't ruin the experience; it rather makes you look forward with dread. Sadly, I have no idea where to find this bloody thing.
  • Final Fantasy IX: I don't recall the name, but it's set to Linkin Park's "In the End." Actually, there are dozens of videos set to this, but I think FF9's video is one of the best. It's gorgeously done.

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/video.php?v=469 Warning, spoilers in this video.
  • Generic Final Fantasy: Set to the music of violinist Vanessa Mae's "Storm." I've heard it's great, but have never seen it.

  • Gun Smith Cats: My Way, set to Limp Bizkit's "My Way." It's a fast-paced car chase video.

I can't find a link for it. Can anyone help?
  • General: The History of Anime, set to the same piece "Storm," as the FF AMV above. This video makes you proud to like anime.

  • General: Anime Polka, set to one of Weird Al's various polka tunes. It's good fun.

  • Love Hina: The Hell that is Keitaro's Life, set to "The Hell that is My Life" by Zebrahead. This one has comedy, action, drama, and sorrow all in one. I love it.

Ah, what the heck, I'll go and find the links myself.

I hope you guys all have DSL connections, because you'll want to get all of these, even if you're not anime fans.

My connection is horrible, so getting the videos on my own is pretty much impossible. However, I have a friend in Canada with a cable connection and if he has anything interesting I'll get it.
So far I only have two though. Various anime set to Weird Al's Polka Medley, and Scenes from Love Hina set to Want You Bad by Offspring. :) They're both pretty funny but I love watching that guy from Love Hina (I haven't seen the actual show yet) getting whomped on by every female he meets.
