Where are we on the previews?

Plane Sailing

Astral Admin - Mwahahaha!
The "December and Beyond" preview on the wizards site raised some expectations for forthcoming previews. Shall we see where we are on them?

with the following topics scheduled to be revealed in December:

Races: Tieflings
Classes: Warlock Pacts
D&D World: History of the Core World
Monsters: Dragons and Dragon Families
Adventure Design: Traps
Magic Items: Weapons
Subsystem: Critical Hits and Misses

Starting in January 2008, Dragon #362 will take a look at the following:

Forgotten Realms: Using the Spellplague in your 3E campaign
Races: Elves and Eladrin
Classes: Warlord
Monsters: Minions
Adventure Design: Fantastic Terrain
Magic Items: Artifacts
D&D World: The Feywild
Subsystem: Death, Dying, and Negative HP

I've bolded the ones that I think we've had so far, have I missed any? What extras have we had that were not on that list?
e.g.

Pit Fiend

Cheers

So we did get something on traps. But didn't actually see one. And something on magic items, but not magic weapons. Its also worth noting that we have seen a lot of the "world(s)" stuff in the preview books.

I follow four game companies. The only one who's release schedule isn't a pack of lies is the one that hasn't got a release schedule.

Every so often I get very angry about it, but then I remember that even when the designer and manufacturer are up to date, the distributor is behind, and even when the distributor is up to date, my local gaming store forgets to place my order. So no matter what, I don't get what I want when I expect it.

I'm one of the people that's been bitching about this, but in all fairness, I think we've also gotten something on:

Adventure Design: Traps
Subsystem: Critical Hits and Misses
Subsystem: Death, Dying, and Negative HP

LOL. You just made my day (yeah, doesn't take much these days), thanks.

Cheers,

Thanks, I've bolded 'traps' in my list above, and I'd already got 'Critical Hits' (misses didn't seem to be included though?)

Perhaps 'magic item:weapons' became 'magic item: item levels' or 'item slots'?

Still quite a lot missing in action then.

Maybe they decided to narrow the focus 'cause they've got a lot on their hands right now.

Also, it seems as though some previews got folded into one article, like the elf/drow/eladrin, wich talked about history of the world, elves and eladrin, cosmology and the feywild. It's not just easier to talk about one specific matter, it also gives us more detail (perhaps even crunch - crunch we don't understand, but crunch anyway) and a lot more to be curious about the things not said - thus ensuring we will be coming back for more.

And there's probably the fact that they've become very weary about the things they can and cannot say to some fans...

In the end, if all our doubts, worries and fears about 4e are answered, what would we do until 4e comes out? What? Play (as they say) broken 3e? Social life? Madness, I tell you! ;)

I work for a publisher (and no, I was not at all insulted by your post!), and I will say that, as much as it is stated that the "release schedule" is a promise or set in stone, for the most part, it really is just hopes and dreams.

I think these things would improve is someone could be killed if they missed the "deadline."
